Overview
Statistics is the collection and interpretation of data. At the University of New Brunswick Saint John, you will learn to develop tools to predict behaviour and actions across a variety of sectors including government, business, science and academia.
In your first year you will be required to take introductory mathematics courses in calculus as well as two introductory courses in probability and statistics. In your upper years you will build upon this foundation with courses in probability analysis, design and sample surveying. You may declare your major or minor in statistics at the end of your second year.
A degree in statistics prepares you for a career in analyzing a variety of factors for many types of employers including government, business, education and academia.
Our graduates go on to become actuaries, forensic auditors, insurance underwriters, market research analysts, medical researchers, public opinion researchers, statisticians and systems operation analysts.
