 UNB Saint John's Bachelor of Applied Management in Accounting (BAMAC) program complements the practical and technical accounting experience gained through a college education with university-level studies in accounting.

The BAMAC will qualify students for greater career opportunities or to pursue a professional accounting designation, such as the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA). As an added bonus, many of the courses required in the BAMAC are the same as the required courses for the CPA professional program.

What is gender and how has its definition changed over time and place? How has gender been represented through literature and other media? And how exactly do we bring about change in gender relations in the world?

These are a few questions the Gender Studies program on UNB’s Saint John campus will address, by focusing heavily on concepts such as feminism, masculinity, queer studies, and transgender studies.

The multidisciplinary International Studies program at UNB’s Saint John campus is about exploring the diversity, complexity, and interdependence that make up our modern world. Economists are excited by changing environments and unique challenges. When you study economics, you’re examining decision-making processes at the personal and political level and contributing to a way of thinking that will influence countless social issues, including: poverty, climate change, health care, international development, globalization, immigration, financial institutions, and government regulations. Anthropologists study humans: who we are, what we do, what we say, what we look like, and what we believe in.

At UNB, Anthropology is a holistic discipline, meaning you’ll examine humans, both past and present, as biological, cultural, and social beings. You’ll explore three central subfields – sociocultural anthropology, archeology, and biological anthropology – and you’ll have access to our expanded lab facility that includes a vast collection of human, hominid, and primate teaching specimens.

We use a range of learning styles and innovative teaching methods, and we incorporate findings from our research. Our small class sizes mean greater interaction between you, your instructors, and your peers.

The study of English is about the appreciation of language at work.  English students explore the impact and possibilities of words as they form into narratives and speak through characters to wider cultural communities at home and across the globe. 

English offers creative inspiration and critical thinking skills while empowering students to become highly literate in a society that values communication.

We will help develop your analytical and communication skills; studying literature will refine your reading, writing, and critical thinking skills, as well as cultivate your love of literature.  Through in-class discussions and seminar presentations, you’ll build strategies for public speaking.

Psychology is the science of human thought, behaviour and emotion. All that we think, feel and do is a possible topic for psychological study. Psychology applies its knowledge to human activity in order to improve lives and alleviate suffering.

At UNB, we offer a broad spectrum of research areas in psychology, including: human sexuality, depression, feminist perspectives, Autism, women’s studies, internet and gambling addictions, gender and laterality, pain assessment and management, infant and adolescent development, cultural psychology, self-concept and identity, bilingualism and cognitive neuroscience.

From emergency care for premature babies with immature lungs, to ongoing treatment for people with chronic diseases such as cystic fibrosis, asthma and emphysema, respiratory therapists play an important role in lifelong health.

Respiratory therapists can be found throughout the health care system, such as:

• Rehabilitation centres
• Public health clinics
• Home care services
• Research labs within universities
• Private sector corporations
• Equipment and pharmaceutical sales
• Air quality testing facilities

Open doors

• A respiratory therapy degree can also open doors around the world. Health care providers in developing countries actively recruit Canadian graduates to help develop health care facilities and programs abroad.
• Following completion of the BHS (Respiratory Therapy) students may pursue further training in the specialized treatment areas of perfusion technology, sleep medicine, neonatal or pediatric care and anaesthesia assistant.

Our BScEC program will introduce you to the function and roles of Canadian and global economies, and the tools economists use to analyze the decisions made by individuals and businesses. Our BScEC graduates are well-qualified for jobs in economics or finance, or the pursuit of graduate studies in either field.

Scientific research has made great advances in the past 20 years and at UNB Saint John you’ll have the opportunity to learn and experiment in small classes led by instructors passionate about science and the theoretical and practical knowledge it imparts.

How is crude oil refined for use as heating fuel or as a lubricant? Ask a chemical engineer. Chemical engineers monitor air and water quality and construct and operate equipment that processes materials into desired products.

UNB Saint John's undergraduate program in chemical engineering provides a broad background in chemistry, physics, and mathematics and detailed knowledge of chemical engineering principles.
