The University of New Brunswick Saint John's Bachelor of Applied Management Ecommerce (BAMEC) program complements technical and programming skills gained through a college education with university-level studies on how business is conducted in the new economy.

Our campus is adjacent to New Brunswick’s largest health care facility, the Saint John Regional Hospital - the province's main trauma and heart care centre and medical teaching facility. We are also co-located with Dalhousie Medicine New Brunswick, and NBCC (New Brunswick Community College) Allied Health - giving us unique opportunities for interdisciplinary research and education that will enhance your studies.

You will begin with introductory classes in the physical and social sciences along with courses geared toward career development. In your second year you will focus on health specialties such as mental health, young families and the relationship between bodies and disease. Third and fourth year courses will concentrate on acute care and community nursing.

Our students receive valuable real-world experience during clinical care practicums at both the hospital and through local community, industry and public health programs and agencies.

Mathematics puts our world in order. Arts students may major or minor in Mathematics, studying calculus, geometry, algebra, statistics and mathematical theory. Mathematics provides the framework for scientific theory in applied, natural and social sciences and the principles underlying economics and business studies.

Geological engineers merge earth sciences with engineering principles to determine what lies underground. Working primarily in the mining and mineral extraction sectors, geological engineers oversee the stability and safety of mines and of drilling sites, particularly of oil and natural gas wells.

This includes:

• Stabilizing the site against landslides and other ecological disasters
• Protecting groundwater supplies from contamination
• Ensuring all work is conducted in an environmentally sustainable way

The BScCS is a four-year degree program providing students with a solid foundation in core areas of computing recognized by the Canadian Information Processing Society. The program prepares students for a wide variety of careers in traditional and emerging fields in computing. Alongside core courses a targeted range of elective courses are offered through which students have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in specific areas of computing or in complementary disciplines.

Students may choose to specialize in one of the following disciplines: software engineering, or computer networking.

Anthropologists study humans: who we are, what we do, what we say, what we look like, and what we believe in.

At UNB, Anthropology is a holistic discipline, meaning you’ll examine humans, both past and present, as biological, cultural, and social beings. You’ll explore three central subfields – sociocultural anthropology, archeology, and biological anthropology – and you’ll have access to our expanded lab facility that includes a vast collection of human, hominid, and primate teaching specimens.

We use a range of learning styles and innovative teaching methods, and we incorporate findings from our research. Our small class sizes mean greater interaction between you, your instructors, and your peers.

Politics is everywhere – in boardrooms, school yards, community halls, neighbourhoods, and in settlements all around the world.

At the heart of the Politics program at UNB’s Saint John campus is the discussion of political power, institutions, and practice. You’ll be examining how and why the government makes its decisions and how those decisions affect our social, cultural, legal, and economic landscape.

Four major fields of study include Canadian Politics, Comparative Politics, International Relations, and Political Theory.

Our BScEC graduates are well-qualified for jobs in economics or finance, or the pursuit of graduate studies in either field.
