Our BScEC program will introduce you to the function and roles of Canadian and global economies, and the tools economists use to analyze the decisions made by individuals and businesses. Our BScEC graduates are well-qualified for jobs in economics or finance, or the pursuit of graduate studies in either field.

Bachelor of Science at UNB Saint John:-

At UNB Saint John you’ll explore how the world works with Bachelor of Science programs that delve deep into the principles that support our universe, from the diverse ecosystems in our rivers and oceans to the pure mathematical theories that explain time and space.

Scientific research has made great advances in the past 20 years and at UNB Saint John you’ll have the opportunity to learn and experiment in small classes led by instructors passionate about science and the theoretical and practical knowledge it imparts.

Politics is everywhere – in boardrooms, school yards, community halls, neighbourhoods, and in settlements all around the world.

At the heart of the Politics program at UNB’s Saint John campus is the discussion of political power, institutions, and practice. You’ll be examining how and why the government makes its decisions and how those decisions affect our social, cultural, legal, and economic landscape.

Four major fields of study include Canadian Politics, Comparative Politics, International Relations, and Political Theory.

The Faculty of Engineering offers a program leading to a Diploma in Technology Management and Entrepreneurship, administered by the Dr. J. Herbert Smith/ACOA Chair. The mission of the program is to provide undergraduate and continuing education students opportunities to experience the realities of entrepreneurship and management in technology-based businesses and to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in business. The Diploma program consists of three core courses and two electives, totalling 15 credit hours. In selecting courses, students will be advised to develop a curriculum that builds skills in three key areas: business management, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy.

Up to twelve credit hours of required courses for the TME diploma can be shared as credit towards a degree. Each department shall determine its own maximum allowable concurrent credit hours, which may be less than, but no greater than twelve credit hours. Students who intend to complete the diploma must obtain both department and TME program approval of the courses which will be applied towards the degree and the diploma.

Applicants are encouraged to apply to the program as early as their first year of study and begin by taking elective courses. A minimum of 80 credit hours completed, or permission of the TME program Chair, is required to enroll in TME core courses.  Applicants who are not full-time students may still apply for the TME Diploma (or enroll in one or more TME courses). These applicants may be requested to submit the following documents along with their TME Diploma Application:

Statistics is the collection and interpretation of data. At the University of New Brunswick Saint John, you will learn to develop tools to predict behaviour and actions across a variety of sectors including government, business, science and academia.

In your first year you will be required to take introductory mathematics courses in calculus as well as two introductory courses in probability and statistics. In your upper years you will build upon this foundation with courses in probability analysis, design and sample surveying. You may declare your major or minor in statistics at the end of your second year.

A degree in statistics prepares you for a career in analyzing a variety of factors for many types of employers including government, business, education and academia.

Our graduates go on to become actuaries, forensic auditors, insurance underwriters, market research analysts, medical researchers, public opinion researchers, statisticians and systems operation analysts.

Mathematics puts our world in order.

The Mathematics program on the Saint John campus is available as a major and minor option as part of a Bachelor of Science degree as well as part of a Bachelor of Arts degree. Additionally, there is a major in Mathematics and Economics option as part of a Bachelor of Science degree and there is a Certificate in Mathematics for Education.

Mechanical engineers work with systems that transform energy and material to useful ends.

Combining the principles of physics with engineering, mechanical engineers design, develop and analyze machines, including:

• Medical devices
• Heating and cooling systems

The majority of mechanical engineers work in manufacturing and industrial plants, improving system performance, including increased emission and other environmental controls.

Software engineers fuse the creativity of software design with the discipline of engineering principles.

A relatively new field, software engineers perform a number of tasks including design, development (or construction), testing, maintenance, systems management and the adaptation of software to address regional and language differences, also known as software localization.

Software engineering is a fast-growing field with employment opportunities located in almost every sector and all over the world.

Geological engineers merge earth sciences with engineering principles to determine what lies underground. Working primarily in the mining and mineral extraction sectors, geological engineers oversee the stability and safety of mines and of drilling sites, particularly of oil and natural gas wells.

This includes:

• Stabilizing the site against landslides and other ecological disasters
• Protecting groundwater supplies from contamination
• Ensuring all work is conducted in an environmentally sustainable way

The Pre-MBA Program is full-time, intensive, non-credit program offered by Saint John College and UNB Saint John's Master of Business Administration program. It is designed to help international students bridge the gap between their undergraduate education, work experience and the entry requirements of UNB Saint John's MBA program.

The Pre-MBA program is designed for international students who have been conditionally accepted to the UNB Saint John MBA Program but who need to increase their level of English language ability and/or gain work experience.

Bio-Psychology examines the human body and human behaviour. This interdisciplinary program is designed for students interested in pursing careers or post-graduate studies in neuroscience, human biology, medicine, dentistry or pharmacy.

What you'll learn
In your first year you will take introductory courses in a cross section of science disciplines. These survey courses serve as the foundation for upper level study.
A major in Biology-Psychology will include studies in specialized topics such as perception, animal learning, cognition, social and developmental psychology, microbiology, genetics, physiology and more.
