The University of Regina offers an exciting inter-disciplinary research-oriented graduate degree program in Gerontology. The study of gerontology (the comprehensive study of aging and the problems and opportunities of older adults) is becoming increasingly important because it addresses one of the most significant demographic issues confronting our society today, namely the increasing proportion of the population that is over the age of 65. Students with professional degrees, (e.g., medicine, social work, physical therapy, nursing, optometry, etc.) as well as undergraduate degrees in kinesiology, psychology, health studies, health science, biology or other related health disciplines are encouraged to apply for the fall semester. The program is coordinated by the Centre on Aging and Health, University of Regina and involves the collaboration of the Faculty of Arts, the Faculty of Kinesiology and Health Studies and the Faculty of Social Work. Students can work towards an M.A. or an M.Sc. degree depending on the nature of their thesis research. The program aims to provide research training and specialized gerontological knowledge to health professionals and to students wishing to pursue doctoral studies and research careers. The program aims to address both the physiological and psychosocial aspects of aging.

This course will begin to map the terrain that is Pop Culture. The changing ground of pop culture has been mapped by different theoretical and methodological approaches in ways that are not historically fixed. This course provides an introduction to the theories, practices and evolving legacy of pop culture.

Programs in biochemistry at the University of Regina encompass the study of proteomics and systems biology, supported by a strong background of chemistry and biology.

Research

At the University of Regina, students can complete the pre-pharmacy requirements for the College of Pharmacy at the University of Saskatchewan. Students are eligible to apply to the University of Saskatchewan after the completion of 30 credit hours of specified courses. Pre-pharmacy courses completed at the University of Regina can be used toward a variety of programs at the University of Regina.

What is Petroleum Systems Engineering?
Petroleum Systems Engineers develop techniques to efficiently recover oil, gas, and other minerals while reducing environmental impacts using various pollution remediation and greenhouse gas reduction techniques.

Our Program
The Petroleum Systems Engineering (PSE) undergraduate program teaches evaluation, design, and management of technologies used in evaluating reserves and in oil and gas production and treatment. Advanced computer utilization and automation are integrated into the program.

Students can complete the pre-nutrition requirements for the Nutrition program at the University of Saskatchewan at the University of Regina. Students are eligible to apply to the Nutrition program after completion of 30 credits hours of specific course requirements. The MA program in French and Francophone Intercultural Studies is designed for students interested in literature, language, translation, linguistics, terminology, applied linguistics, gender and cultural studies, and the history of ideas. The program covers French, Quebec, French-Canadian and postcolonial French literatures. For French-Canadian studies, collaboration with the Institut français, the Department of History, Women's Studies and the Canadian Plains Research Center (CPRC) and other units makes possible linguistic and cultural studies of French communities in Western Canada.
