Philosophy asks many questions and encourages us to scrutinize the everyday assumptions that shape our lives. As a philosophy student, you will study classic philosophers such as Aristotle and Plato and will explore the influential and world-changing ideas of Descartes, Marx, and Rousseau. You will learn to challenge and question the world we live in, learn to reevaluate the everyday and theorize about different belief systems.

This concentration within the Bachelor of Arts, Fine Arts Major is designed for students interested in curatorial work. Students take specific Art History courses as well as selected Media, Art, and Performance courses. This program was developed to meet the demand of students and graduates for more training in this area. Art galleries, museums, and archives are just a few places where this specialized knowledge is required.

In the Bachelor of Kinesiology in Health Promotion program, you will gain a foundation in movement science and a background in the determinants of health, equity, diversity and inclusion, wellness, evaluation, and program delivery. You’ll learn how programs and policies, like housing, access to healthy food, and mental health supports, can affect health. In addition, you will learn how to assess, develop and implement programs that are designed to achieve specific health results.

Health promotion can be applied in all areas of society, including workplaces, schools, health care facilities, your personal life, and the community. This field is growing as workplaces and organizations recognize the importance of promoting health and wellbeing among their employees and members.

The MA in Justice Studies offers grounding in theoretical issues and methodological approaches to various aspects of justice, including legal, criminal, restorative, and social justice. This is an interdisciplinary degree that draws on a range of university resources to individualize students’ programs and to explore justice from a range of perspectives.

Research opportunities are available in the following areas:

• The social contexts of crime
• Critical analysis of judicial processes, correctional and restorative justice programs, and victims' services
• Social justice issues and movements related to economic equality, political participation, gender equality, ethno-cultural identity, and other aspects of inequality and injustice
• International justice, human rights, and social development, including alternative models of globalization and the role of international organizations.

The Department currently offers three routes for the MA in English: course-based, Creative Writing, and thesis-based. The course MA (ten courses) provides an opportunity to achieve a breadth of knowledge in many areas of English literature. The thesis MA (five courses plus thesis) provides an opportunity to do in-depth research, and an extended piece of writing, on one area of English literature. The Master's degree is normally the highest offered in the Department of English at the University of Regina, and affords the Department the opportunity for close support of Master’s students and high-priority supervision of Master's theses Both the thesis and course MA offer students excellent preparation for graduate studies at the doctoral level, or for jobs and careers in English. The Department is engaged in a broad range of research in pure and applied mathematics and statistics, and offers programs leading to the MSc, and PhD degrees in mathematics or statistics. The MSc degrees normally requires two years of study, and students may chose either a course-based option or a thesis option for the research component of the degree.

The Faculties of Social Work and Graduate Studies and Research offers graduate work leading to a MISW degree.  Faculty Members form the School of Indigenous Social Work at First Nations University of Canada are involved in this program. The graduate program of studies aims to prepare students as clinical practitioners, especially skilled in First Nations approaches to therapy and especially sensitive to issues facing First Nations and Metis communities. As clinicians, they would be capable of functioning in a broad spectrum of human services activity and in a wide variety of social work and social welfare settings.  There will be a focus on the abuses of residential schools, including intergenerational effects, as one lens through which generic clinical skills, relevant to serving all populations, are developed. The program encourages the development of critical analytical framework with which to understand the effects of colonization on Indigenous people. The program has a commitment to respecting the principles and practices of Indigenous pedagogy, and to building its teaching and learning experiences on a foundation which respects traditional Indigenous knowledge and the collective wisdom of the Elders.

A two-year, 72-credit-hour program of studies, the Diploma in Indigenous Communication Arts (INCA) is offered through the First Nations University of Canada’s Department of Indigenous Communication and Fine Arts. .

Indigenous Communication Arts (INCA) provides academic training and professional experience that supports the entry of Indigenous people into all areas of the communications industry, including Indigenous and mainstream media and public relations. INCA graduates are also eligible to apply to the University of Regina School of Journalism.

INCA prepares students by requiring that they complete courses including Indigenous history and politics, oral traditions, community-based research, business management, traditional and contemporary communication systems, languages, and art. INCA students master basic skills needed for reporting for print and broadcast media and the web and can also study strategic communication planning for public relations.

To qualify for admission to INCA, students must be eligible for admission to the First Nations University of Canada/University of Regina. Proficiency in English must be well above average, and it is strongly recommended that applicants have basic computer skills. Upon being accepted by First Nations University of Canada/University of Regina, students must contact the Faculty or the Department of Indigenous Communication and Fine Arts  which will provide academic and professional advising.
