The Bachelor of Arts in Police Studies is a unique degree offering two programs of study: a professional path and an academic path.

• In the professional path, students complete three years of studies in the Department of Justice Studies, followed by one term at the Saskatchewan Police College and a one-term internship with a police service, with an intensive focus on hands-on development and training.
• In the academic path, students complete all four years in the Department of Justice Studies, with their fourth year focussed on expanding the theoretical and applied knowledge gained in their previous studies.

The Levene Master of Administration in Leadership (M. Admin. Leadership) is a 30 credit hour program and can be completed in two years if taken full-time. The Levene M.Admin Leadership will apply your management style to theory to lead employees effectively and strategically. You will expand your expertise in strategy, governance and leadership through courses focused on organizational design, continuous learning and conflict resolution.

Co-operative Education Program
For students who are entering the Master of Administration in Leadership program in their early career with limited professional experience, Co-op work placements offer an opportunity to apply principles learned in class in a working environment.  Co-op students also gain valuable workplace experience proven to add value to the classroom experience for themselves and other students.  The Co-op route also provides an opportunity for early career MAdmin students to secure management level jobs that they might not otherwise have access to. Students must have completed at least four classes, have no failing grades, and normally obtained a minimum CGPA of 75% before applying for co-op.

Process Systems Engineering (PSEng) is a broad category of engineering that deals with the process design for the purpose of converting raw goods to usable end products, including energy. Process engineering looks at the entire process from Point A, which is a raw material, to Point Z, which is the desired end product. It does not necessarily deal with acquiring the raw base material, although knowledge of its acquisition is part of the U of R’s systems approach to teaching and research.

The Master of Arts (MA) in Media Studies is a 30 credit hour program designed for advanced studies in cinema and media history, theory, and methods, emphasizing current concepts, issues, and trends. Avenues of exploration could include national and transnational cinemas, directors, genres, or other contemporary approaches (feminist, post-colonial, indigenous) across the full range of media such as dramatic, documentary, animation and experimental cinema; broadcast media; new media and interactive media. The program aims to develop broad expertise and critical thinking while enabling students to focus their interests through core courses in theory and methods, seminars, and specialized directed readings.

Increasingly, humans are inhabiting areas of both natural and human-made geological hazards. In order to prepare for and manage potential hazards, we need to know more about the natural geological processes that affect them. New generations will need to know more about the earth to make the best decisions for humans’ well-being.

Geology emphasizes solid earth science and applications in mineral and oil and gas resources. It can be divided into two areas of concentrations:

• Mineral exploration
• Oil and gas exploration

Our program has a well-rounded curriculum that promotes a solid understanding of the fundamentals of the earth sciences across all sub-disciplines, combined with extensive hands-on training, field-oriented class exercises, regular use of the Saskatchewan Geological Survey’s subsurface core repository, and two intensive field school courses. Our programs have an established reputation for training highly qualified graduates.

The study of anthropology gives you a deep, useful, cross-cultural understanding of human beings. You will gain powerful and sometimes surprising insights into insights into the way we humans across the globe organize and understand our lives. What are “different cultures”? How can we learn to understand power relations in various societies? We approach such questions by looking at patterns and changes and comparing them. This leads us to think about the ways we position ourselves in the world and our environments.

The Master of Education degree in Educational Leadership (EDL) is designed to serve the needs of practicing school administrators, and for those who wish to prepare for a career in educational administration.

Linguistics is the scientific study of all forms of human language. It is a search for the patterns of sound, word-form, phrase structure, and meaning that underlie the languages we use. Linguists concern themselves with the structure of language: all forms of human language and the search for the patterns of sound, word-form, phrase structure and meaning that underlie language we use.

The languages and linguistics program is taught by faculty members in a variety of areas within the University. The Department of Indigenous Languages, Arts and Cultures, First Nations University of Canada (including the three full-time Linguistics faculty) offers a large number of courses; other linguistics courses are offered by the Faculties of Arts and Education.
