Master of Engineering in Electronic Systems Engineering - (Project Based)

The Teaching, Learning, Leadership (TLL) is a course-only Master's degree program that was designed by teachers for teachers. Nine out of the ten courses are designed to be taken in any order for maximum flexibility. All of the classes are offered online. Most are also offered face-to-face so students can opt to take all of their program online, or a combination of online and face-to-face. There is one foundational course in Curriculum and Instruction (EC&I 804) and Educational Leadership (EDL 819) to provide a broad overview of these two areas. There are 6 elective courses, enabling students choice.  Students can select elective courses to create a "specialty", for example, opting for leadership (EDL)  electives provides an in-depth experience in one particular area OR students can take a range of courses to suit their individual professional goals. Given the importance and relevancy of anti-oppressive and Indigenous education, the program template offers a suite of anti-oppressive and indigenous education classes, ensuring every student has a learning experience in this area. The final course is a capstone seminar class that will be a culminating experience to bring both a reflective and forward looking perspective to round out the coursework and look beyond this degree.

The Department of Anthropology offers a number of research possibilities within socio-cultural anthropology and the anthropology of language. The research interests of our faculty literally cover the globe in our attempts to understand cultural variation and change. Particular interests include symbolic and interpretive theory, personhood and morality, religion and ritual, material culture and art, nationalism, and ethnographies of Latin America, the Himalayas, Polynesia, and post-socialist Europe

Students can complete the qualifying university requirements for the Chiropractic program at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). Students are required to complete a minimum of three years (90 credit hours) of undergraduate university study in any discipline prior to admission to the Chiropractic program. Although there are no specific required courses, CMCC does recommend courses in specific subject areas. The Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) at the CMCC is a four year program following admission. The CMCC welcomes applications from Canadian and international students. The courses completed at the University of Regina as part of this program can be used toward variety of degree programs at the University of Regina.

The major areas of specialization are in manufacturing, control, process engineering and energy systems. Activities include CAE, Facilities design, Quality control, Performance evaluation of manufacturing systems, Fatigue analysis, Vibration and noise analysis, Design and manufacturing of pressure vessels, Non-linear dynamics fracture mechanics, Modeling/simulation/ design/ implementation of robotic human powered , Sensor-based motion planning, Optimal control, Artificial Neural networks, Virtual reality, Artificial/Computational sapiens (wisdom), Metabotics, Greenhouse gas technology control including Solubility of gases in liquids, PVT studies, Mass transfer with chemical reactions, Kinetics, Corrosion and degradation, Calorimetry, Physical and transport properties measurements, Pilot plant design and operations, Fuel cells, Biomass, Modeling and simulation of industrial systems, Renewable energy studies dealing with wind and solar energies.

The Bachelor of Arts in Police Studies is a unique degree offering two programs of study: a professional path and an academic path.

• In the professional path, students complete three years of studies in the Department of Justice Studies, followed by one term at the Saskatchewan Police College and a one-term internship with a police service, with an intensive focus on hands-on development and training.
• In the academic path, students complete all four years in the Department of Justice Studies, with their fourth year focussed on expanding the theoretical and applied knowledge gained in their previous studies.

This concentration within the Bachelor of Arts, Fine Arts Major is designed for students interested in curatorial work. Students take specific Art History courses as well as selected Media, Art, and Performance courses. This program was developed to meet the demand of students and graduates for more training in this area. Art galleries, museums, and archives are just a few places where this specialized knowledge is required.

The Department of Computer Science offers programs of study involving interdepartmental, multi-institutional and inter-institutional collaboration that has attracted faculty members and graduate students from all over the world. Students may pursue full-time or part-time graduate study leading towards the MSc and PhD degrees.

The MSc and PhD degrees in Computer Science focus on four main areas of research: artificial intelligence; databases and information retrieval; graphics, image and audio processing; multimedia, and software engineering. Specifically, active research topics conducted by faculty members include, but are not limited to:

• Data mining, knowledge discovery and machine learning, Bayesian networks, rough set theory, uncertainty management, quantitative and temporal reasoning
• Graphical modeling and rendering algorithms, animation, image and signal processing, facial recognition, computational music and audio, information visualization, human computer interaction
• Information retrieval, cognitive informatics, Web intelligence and service, electronic commerce, database theory, and information theory and its applications in communications
• Language-based software security, data security, agent-oriented software engineering, software reuse, formal methods, and distance education
• Algorithm design and analysis, theory of computing, computational geometry, graph theory

MSc (Thesis Route)
The Master's thesis route requires students to pursue research supported by the Department of Computer Science. A fully qualified student may complete a Master's thesis route by undertaking 15 credits of coursework as well as 15 credits of thesis research together with the thesis defense. Two non-credit CS seminar presentations are also required.

The Bachelor of Geographic Information Science (B.GISc) is an innovative program offered by the Department of Geography & Environmental Studies at the University of Regina. The Bachelor of Geographic Information Science is a unique designation that is not offered in this format anywhere else in North America.

Geographic Information Science (GIScience) is the intellectual understanding behind the development and application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). GIS are used by resource exploration companies to locate areas of new reserves, power utilities to plan new power line routes, municipalities to manage their infrastructure, school boards to optimize school bus routing, health districts to examine the spread of infectious diseases, police departments to identify crime hot spots, and businesses to document the geographic distribution and demographics of their customers.

Some of the questions asked in GIScience are:

• What are the implications of using latitude and longitude, a postal code, or a street address to locate a crime scene?
• How do you encode the flight pattern of a butterfly in a computer?
• Is there a spatial correlation between diabetes and socio-economic status?

GIScience is an emerging academic discipline and is being used throughout the world to solve problems in multiple disciplines:

• Biologists use GIS to map the nesting and foraging habitats of endangered wildlife. Environmental engineers have built hydraulic models into GIS to forecast peak river flow conditions.
• Crime mapping with GIS has revolutionized the work done by justice and police professionals.
• Social planners and social workers use GIS to optimize the delivery of social services to segments of the population in most need.
• Business analysts enter data on customer purchasing patterns, demographic trends, and the location of competitors into a GIS to identify ideal locations to establish new business enterprises.
• Health professionals use GIS to track the spread of infectious diseases and to search for the social and environmental conduits along which the viruses travel the fastest.
