The Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm.) degree is a four-year program offered by the University of Saskatchewan's Edwards School of Business.
All undergraduate students admitted to the Edwards School of Business are required to complete a common first-year of studies. In January of your second year, you'll apply to a specialization in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Management, Marketing or Supply Chain Management.

Marketing
Marketing includes everything an organization does to acquire customers and maintain a relationship with them. The field of marketing includes advertising, sales, product and services design, brand management, and public relations.

What you will learn
As a Marketing major you will learn how to develop a comprehensive marketing strategy and plan, understand and analyze consumer behaviour, and undertake market research projects. You will develop the ability to see an organization from a customer’s, or client’s, perspective.

Your electives allow you to develop specialized knowledge in advertising and marketing communications, branding strategies, retail analysis, digital marketing, selling and social cause marketing.

The College of Nursing offers three programs leading to the Master of Nursing (MN) degree: Professional Practice, Thesis, and Nurse Practitioner.

A student completing the Professional Practice or Thesis MN program will be able to:

• Articulate perspectives on nursing
• Critique, utilize and contribute to theoretical and empirical knowledge bases for nursing
• Develop, implement and evaluate strategies for advanced nursing practice at the client and system level
• Demonstrate leadership skills needed to influence change

Graduates will be able to assume:

• Leadership/advanced practice roles in health care
• Educator roles in service and educational institutions
• Research roles in terms of generation and utilization of nursing knowledge
• Further study at the doctoral level

Professional Practice Master's Program
Master of Nursing Professional Practice students are required to take 27 credits units of coursework. Courses are designed so students can complete them in less than two calendar years and are delivered using a combination of live web conferenced seminars (synchronous) or online delivery (asynchronous) distance learning within North America

Environmental engineers apply science and engineering principles to protect and improve public health and the environment, including our air, water and land.

What you will learn

• We’ve redesigned first-year engineering at USask to help you succeed and make engineering more fun. We call the new first year RE-ENGINEERED. It’s the only program of its kind in Canada. It will get you excited and inspired about engineering. 
• In RE-ENGINEERED, instead of high-stakes exams, you will do more assignments and quizzes so you can improve your mark if you stumble early. Daily tutorials are part of the schedule so you can get help when you need it. And instead of final exams, you will explore the different branches of engineering in hands-on courses.
• You will choose your engineering specialty – known as your major, or discipline – at the end of your first year. This is the area you will study in-depth in your upper-years classes.

Learn about the world around you as you develop a broad understanding of international events and complex challenges involving peace and conflict, poverty and development, social justice and the environment.

What you will learn   
This program will equip you with global literacy and key insights into our interconnected world. You will take classes that explore government, business, culture, the environment, politics and international aspects of law, science, conflict and development. You will learn about inequality globally, challenges to cooperation among states, and the reasons for and complexity of crises and conflicts. You will understand and engage with some of the world’s most pressing issues.

Agronomy is a science that finds ways to grow crops more efficiently and profitably while protecting the environment. Agronomy affects us all through the food we eat, the coffee we drink, the ethanol-based gas we use to power our vehicles and the natural fibers in the clothing we wear.

What you will learn
You will examine ways use natural resources efficiently, sustainably and profitably to produce food, feed, fibre and fuel. You will take courses from several disciplines and learn to approach agronomic issues from several different perspectives. You will acquire an understanding of the biological, ecological and economic principles of crop production and soil management, as well as an appreciation of the short and long term effects of agricultural production on the environment.

Archaeology is the study of artifacts and other physical remains of earlier societies and communities in order to unravel the mysteries of human cultural diversity and adaptation. Archaeologists can reconstruct past human behaviours and life ways from tools, shelters, ornaments, food remnants, modified landscapes, and even human remains.

What you will learn
The program focuses on the past peoples of western Canada and the broader Circumpolar North. You will have the opportunity to participate in the excavation of archaeological sites and will learn how to employ a wide variety of laboratory techniques. These include the analyses of artifacts and other archaeological materials such as human and non-human skeletal remains. You will learn how people interacted with past environments and how sociocultural explanations relevant to past human experiences are developed and tested. In sum, you will learn about how and why human behaviour has changed in the past in order to better understand human behavioural changes today and into the future.

Crop scientists contribute to global food security by increasing local and global food production, developing new crop varieties, and protecting plants from disease and environmental stresses. Discover alternatives to traditional cropping systems and learn to improve the quality and nutrition of crops that feed the world.

What you will learn
Crop Science is the study of agricultural issues and challenges, including:

• Resource use consistent with sustainable production of food, feed, fibre and fuel
• Production, processing and marketing of high quality food and non-food products

• Development and implementation of innovative and efficient production
• Processing and marketing systems.

Crop Science integrates a broad range of disciplines, including genetics, pathology, crop quality and biotechnology, leading to the development of superior varieties of horticulture and field crops.

Environmental science explores the relationships between environmental constraints and sustainable development. An emphasis is placed on the challenges faced in Canada, including the impact of climate change, agriculture, forestry, and oil and gas exploration on the environment.

What you will learn
Environmental science looks at ongoing and emerging environmental issues such as:

• Biological remediation agents,
• Disposal of toxic chemicals,
• Ground water contamination,
• Overgrazing,
• Ozone depletion,
• Pesticides,
• Preservation of wetlands and other natural habitats,
• Production of greenhouse gases and
• The production of genetically engineered plants, animals and microorganisms.

Bioinformatics combines biology, biochemistry, mathematics, statistics and computer science for analyzing and understanding the biochemical processes of life. If your passion is understanding biological processes, genetics, or diseases using biological information, this program would suit you well.

What you will learn
You will learn specialized computational techniques for storing, visualizing, and analyzing data generated from genome sequencing projects and technologies for determining gene expression and protein structures. You will be able to deduce information about an organism from its genome.

The Bachelor of Arts and Science (B.A. & Sc.) degrees are distinct degrees combining the science disciplines with studies in the humanities, social sciences, and/or fine arts.  These unique and highly completive interdisciplinary programs are focused in areas of high demand and allow students to make connections needed to succeed in these areas. Health Studies

• This program examines the issue of health and wellness, including mental health, from a variety of perspectives including how biological, cultural, social, and environmental contexts influence the health and well-being of the individual.

What you will learn

• You will learn about issues of health ranging from biological, psychological, cultural and environmental and how factors such as genetics, personality, attitudes and abilities influence healthy social and emotional development throughout the life span. You will study the role of cultural and community processes in health and healing and examine how groups interact with their environment in healthy and unhealthy ways.
