Agribusiness comes into play at every stage in the food chain, from primary production to the packaging of your favourite snack food. It is also a dynamic business that must respond to advances in technology, changes in trade and policy and to an ever-changing, consumer-driven marketplace.

What you will learn
You will learn about business management, economics, marketing, finance and sales, as well as the legal and institutional environment that characterize agribusiness. You will study the structure and organization of the agri-food sector and develop business skills relevant to farm input, on-farm businesses, processing, transportation, credit and marketing

The Bachelor of Commerce (B.Comm.) degree is a four-year program offered by the University of Saskatchewan's Edwards School of Business.
All undergraduate students admitted to the Edwards School of Business are required to complete a common first-year of studies. In January of your second year, you'll apply to a specialization in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Management, Marketing or Supply Chain Management.

Accounting
Accounting is the art of measuring, communicating, and interpreting financial activity, and is sometimes referred to as "the language of business." It involves interacting with numbers and people to determine the financial health of an organization.

What you will learn
The Accounting major is designed to provide students with the general, business and accounting knowledge necessary for them to succeed as professional accountants. Since accounting is a dynamic field, all accounting majors will learn how to keep their knowledge up-to-date so they can continue to grow throughout their professional careers.

You will acquire the communication, computer, and interpersonal skills necessary to successfully resolve complex problems in unstructured settings. You will also benefit from participation in activities such as the Volunteer Tax Program where fourth year accounting students volunteer their time to prepare tax returns for seniors and people with disabilities.

Biomedical foundations provides students with a strong foundation of multidisciplinary training in biomedical science while providing flexibility for initial specialization within a particular biomedical science.

What you will learn
This program includes necessary courses to prepare you for entry into health-related professional schools not requiring a four-year degree, such as dentistry, veterinary medicine and pharmacy. You will also learn essential skills for careers in broad aspects of biotechnology, as well as employment in academic/research institutions and related industries.
 

Through innovative programming, integrated on-campus and field study opportunities, and the support of experienced and caring faculty, you will be prepared to succeed from the first day of classes through to graduation.

What you will learn
The Bachelor of Education program is designed for future educators wanting to teach students in a variety of educational institutions, including K to 12 schools. You will specialize in two teaching areas to concentrate your expertise in specific subjects.

The Bachelor of Education degree is offered by the College of Education. You have two options when completing this program:

• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) - Early/Middle Years Program
• Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) - Secondary Program

Secondary
If you want to teach students in Grades 9 through 12, choose the Secondary level. You will specialize in two teaching areas to concentrate your expertise in specific high school subjects.

Computer science studies the theory, design, development and application of software and software systems in a wide range of fields from artificial intelligence and human-computer interaction to computational modelling and computer graphics.

What you will learn
You will learn about a wide range of topics including design and maintenance of software systems, distributed systems, human-computer interaction, computational modeling, artificial intelligence, mobile computing, programming languages, image processing, and computer graphics. You will learn to combine creative problem solving and analytical skills to create practical and innovative software.

The Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology/Bachelor of Education Combined Program has been re-envisioned and newly integrated for 2020-2021. This five-year program is designed for students who intend to teach physical education at the secondary level. Students in the combined program will receive the benefits of being in the Colleges of Education and Kinesiology for all five years of the program.

The advantage of this combined degree program is that you will graduate in five years with two degrees with a concentrated knowledge of teaching physical education to high school students.

Students who are currently in the College of Kinesiology (admitted in 2019-2020 or before) will still complete three years of the program in the College of Kinesiology before enrolling in the College of Education to complete the last two years of the program.

What you will learn

• The Combined Kinesiology/Education program is designed so you will graduate in five years with two degrees.
• To ensure you will be a well-rounded teacher, you will specialize in a second teaching area in addition to physical education.
• From 2020-2021 on, students can apply for the direct-entry B.Sc. Kin./B.Ed. combined program to take both Education and Kinesiology classes in all five years of the program. Admission into this program is competitive. There are 30 seats available. One Indigenous equity seat is available for students of Canadian Indigenous descent.
• Only those students who were admitted to the College of Kinesiology in 2019-2020 or before will spend three years of study in the College of Kinesiology then apply to enter the College of Education to complete the last two years of the program. Admission into this program is competitive.

Study the histories of the visual arts which include photography, sculpture, painting, architecture, video, performances, installation, film, and digital imaging, among other media.

What you will learn
In addition to studying more traditional art history such as Renaissance and Baroque art you will be exposed to such areas as First People's Art History; Postcolonial Issues in Contemporary Canadian Art; Art of the Internet; Contemporary Performance Art Theory and Praxis; and Studies in Visual Culture. You will learn how visual forms from painting to film to the Internet and popular media, produce meaning in contemporary everyday life.

Chemistry focuses on what happens to matter at the molecular and subatomic levels. In other words, it is the study of how virtually everything in the world really works. Chemists are at the forefront of scientific discovery in a wide variety of fields such as medicine, drug discovery, nanotechnology, new material design and the environment.

What you will learn
You will learn how molecules interact, how and why chemical reactions occur and how to control these processes. You will learn how to find answers to important questions such as: how do we harvest light to make energy, how do we build molecules that cure disease and how do plants protect themselves from pathogen attack? Through appropriate course selection, you can specialize in analytical, bioorganic, computational, inorganic, organic, organometallic, physical or theoretical chemistry.

The Bachelor of Arts and Science (B.A. & Sc.) degrees are distinct degrees combining the science disciplines with studies in the humanities, social sciences, and/or fine arts.  These unique and highly completive interdisciplinary programs are focused in areas of high demand and allow students to make connections needed to succeed in these areas. Health Studies

• This program examines the issue of health and wellness, including mental health, from a variety of perspectives including how biological, cultural, social, and environmental contexts influence the health and well-being of the individual.

What you will learn

• You will learn about issues of health ranging from biological, psychological, cultural and environmental and how factors such as genetics, personality, attitudes and abilities influence healthy social and emotional development throughout the life span. You will study the role of cultural and community processes in health and healing and examine how groups interact with their environment in healthy and unhealthy ways.
