What you will learn
Anthropology is the comprehensive study of human beings, past and present, in comparative, cross-cultural, and holistic light. Archaeology is a sub-discipline of Anthropology that focuses on the study of artifacts and other physical remains of past peoples in order to explore adaptation and cultural diversity over time. The Archaeology and Anthropology program at the University of Saskatchewan offers training that emphasizes the role of culture in past and present human behaviour and diversity, and that exposes students to human evolutionary, environmental, and social development and adaptation. The program demonstrates particular expertise in medical anthropology, environmental anthropology, applied (practicing) anthropology, anthropological archaeology, environmental archaeology, and bioarchaeology. We emphasize community-based and engaged learning, a commitment to reconciliation, and a broad disciplinary foundation in both anthropology and archaeology.

Agronomy is a science that finds ways to grow crops more efficiently and profitably while protecting the environment. Agronomy affects us all through the food we eat, the coffee we drink, the ethanol-based gas we use to power our vehicles and the natural fibers in the clothing we wear.

What you will learn
You will examine ways use natural resources efficiently, sustainably and profitably to produce food, feed, fibre and fuel. You will take courses from several disciplines and learn to approach agronomic issues from several different perspectives. You will acquire an understanding of the biological, ecological and economic principles of crop production and soil management, as well as an appreciation of the short and long term effects of agricultural production on the environment.

Agricultural Economics is the study of how societies use available resources to meet the needs of people. Agriculture represents the single largest use of the earth's resources—a major driving force in the world's economy. Agricultural economists study agriculture from a business context which involves where products are being consumed, developed, financed, grown, marketed, processed, regulated, researched, taxed and transported

What you will learn
You will examine agriculture issues of environmental quality, food safety, management of biotechnology and globalization from a business context. You will study a supply chain perspective of science, technology, production practice, product handling, product marketing systems and uses for Saskatchewan-produced grain.
You will also learn about natural resource use from the management and policy perspective; problems affecting Western Canadian agriculture; and farm and agricultural business operations management.

Study the evolution of theatre and learn the practice of acting, directing, stage management, writing, costume design, lighting and sound production.

What you will learn
You will learn to act for theatre, film, radio and television and explore the directing process through coaching, conducting auditions and developing rehearsal schedules. Develop your talents as playwrights, stage managers and designers as you learn to construct stage sets, design costumes and gain hands-on experience with lighting, sound production and stage management for on-campus performances. You will engage with every aspect of the theatrical process as you learn the theory and evolution of theatrical production.

Biomedical neuroscience is the study of molecular and cellular neuroscience, systems and sensory neuroscience, behavioural and cognitive neuroscience, neurophysiology and neuroanatomy.

What you will learn
This program includes education in many of the major topics in neuroscience. This program includes necessary prerequisite courses for life science professional schools (e.g. medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nutrition, veterinary medicine, etc.). While this program focuses on neuroscience, it prepares students for graduate studies in many areas of the life sciences.

Psychology is the study of behaviour and mental processes, and their relation to one’s physical state, mental state, and external environment. With the complexity of our modern world, psychologists play an increasingly important role in helping people.

What you will learn
You will discover how your brain works, study the latest methods of diagnosing and treating mental illness and learn about human development. You will study a variety of subjects including social psychology, personality, child development, human neuropsychology, memory, the psychology of language and abnormal psychology.

The Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology/Bachelor of Education Combined Program has been re-envisioned and newly integrated for 2020-2021. This five-year program is designed for students who intend to teach physical education at the secondary level. Students in the combined program will receive the benefits of being in the Colleges of Education and Kinesiology for all five years of the program.

The advantage of this combined degree program is that you will graduate in five years with two degrees with a concentrated knowledge of teaching physical education to high school students.

Students who are currently in the College of Kinesiology (admitted in 2019-2020 or before) will still complete three years of the program in the College of Kinesiology before enrolling in the College of Education to complete the last two years of the program.

What you will learn

• The Combined Kinesiology/Education program is designed so you will graduate in five years with two degrees.
• To ensure you will be a well-rounded teacher, you will specialize in a second teaching area in addition to physical education.
• From 2020-2021 on, students can apply for the direct-entry B.Sc. Kin./B.Ed. combined program to take both Education and Kinesiology classes in all five years of the program. Admission into this program is competitive. There are 30 seats available. One Indigenous equity seat is available for students of Canadian Indigenous descent.
• Only those students who were admitted to the College of Kinesiology in 2019-2020 or before will spend three years of study in the College of Kinesiology then apply to enter the College of Education to complete the last two years of the program. Admission into this program is competitive.

Over 80% of the world’s population identifies as religious. Religious beliefs and practices shape the histories, cultures and perspectives of individuals and entire civilizations. In view of the role religion plays in shaping global citizens, religious literacy is of vital importance.

What you will learn
You will learn about religious approaches to some of humanity’s most timeless and urgent issues, such as the meaning of life and death, relationships, morality, gender and sexuality, ecology, social justice, war and peace. To understand how religions shape human experiences, societies and cultures you will study a range of world religions and religious experiences within cultural, historical, ideological, and current settings.

Cellular, physiological and pharmacological sciences is the study of the structure, function and development of organisms at the molecular, subcellular, cellular, tissue and organ levels. It investigates the functions and mechanisms of major systems of the human body and studies the effects and mode of action of drugs which modify major body systems.

What you will learn
You will study human anatomy, cell biology, neurobiology, skeletal biology, embryonic development, histology, and anatomical imaging. You will also study the properties of chemical compounds in relation to their interactions with living organisms and examine the basis for the discovery and study of drug actions either as therapeutic agents or as tools in physiological research. These fields can be used to advance medical science with clinical relevance to osteoarthritis, Alzheimer's disease, peripheral nerve damage and repair, multiple sclerosis, aging, cancer and pain.

Environment and Society focuses on the interplay between humans and their environment including complex issues such as climate change, population growth, pollution, and management of natural resources faced by our modern society.

What you will learn
You will take courses in a diverse range of topics including the following: hydrology, climatology, vegetation, geomorphology, public policy, political studies, history, philosophy, and statistics. Through exposure to science, social science, and humanities perspectives related to the environment, you will develop an understanding of environmental science, resource management, environmental philosophy, policy, and environmental studies.
