What you will learn
You will learn specialized computational techniques for storing, visualizing, and analyzing data generated from genome sequencing projects and technologies for determining gene expression and protein structures. You will be able to deduce information about an organism from its genome.

Studio art develops your creative potential in a wide range of visual media including: painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture, photography and digital imaging as well as mixed media work such as installation and performance.

What you will learn
With an intensive studio experience you will develop your creative talents and become technically proficient in the visual mediums. Exploring technical, aesthetic, and theoretical concerns in a critical setting pertinent to the pursuit of art in our culture will prepare you for careers in the visual arts or arts-related fields.

Plant Ecologists study the interactions among plants, between plants and the environment, and between soils, plants and animals. Forestry industries, human and livestock health, and agriculture all depend on healthy plant communities and ecosystems.

Learn how to apply ecological principles to ecosystems such as rangelands, forests, wetlands, and croplands for sustainable production. Applied Plant Ecology integrates principles and advanced knowledge of managing, conserving, and restoring natural and semi-natural landscapes and ecosystems.

Biochemistry, microbiology and immunology examines the world of viruses, bacteria, yeasts, moulds and protozoa and the different ways they can affect human and animal health. It advances modern medicine as it studies the immune system and develops protective solutions such as antibiotics and vaccines.

This program will help you develop a strong foundation in biomedical sciences and research skills, as well as provide you with experiential learning opportunities that will be essential to a broad spectrum of science-based careers and further education. You will learn about molecular and cellular approaches to the study of microbial physiology and pathogenesis, protein structure and function, molecular biology, microbial genetics, virology, tumour biology and cancer, immunology and immunopathogenesis.

Computer science studies the theory, design, development and application of software and software systems in a wide range of fields from artificial intelligence and human-computer interaction to computational modelling and computer graphics.

Biomedical neuroscience is the study of molecular and cellular neuroscience, systems and sensory neuroscience, behavioural and cognitive neuroscience, neurophysiology and neuroanatomy.

What you will learn
This program includes education in many of the major topics in neuroscience. This program includes necessary prerequisite courses for life science professional schools (e.g. medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, nutrition, veterinary medicine, etc.). While this program focuses on neuroscience, it prepares students for graduate studies in many areas of the life sciences.

Historians study how societies change over time and use past events to help understand modern concerns surrounding a wide array of topics including environmental crisis, colonialism, addiction, mental health, and changing gender roles.

Political Studies examines the use and abuse of power in societal struggles for justice, equality, freedom, and the common good. It deals with issues, at the local, national and international levels, relating to government and governance, authority and legitimacy, equity and resource distribution, rights and responsibilities, and peace and conflict.

You will learn about the forces and factors that influence the process of political decision-making, including ideologies, political parties, political leadership, civil society, elections, and the media. You will also gain an understanding about threats to global stability including poverty, environmental degradation, human rights violations, and migration and refugees, amongst other topics of contemporary national and international significance.
