Doctor of Medicine in Radiology

This is a three year postgraduate program recognised by the Medical Council of India. The program involves rotational postings in the departments of Radiology, Anatomy, TB and Chest Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Cardiology. Our department is well equipped with state of art infrastructure, which includes 1.5 Tesla MRI with all coils, 128 slice CT scan, multiple sonography, doppler, Xray, bone densitometry, mammography and fluoroscopy machines. All scans are digitally stored in our PACS, ensuring that a vast array of clinical material is available to our residents on the click of a button.

We have very experienced and dedicated faculty , who assist the learning process. Besides a hand- held practical training program, residents are taught basic principles of radiation physics, ultrasound, safety guidelines in Radiology Clinics, maintenance of expensive equipment, and maintenance of records, especially pertaining to the PC-PNDT act. While we take special efforts in making our students proficient in the performance and interpretation of routine radiological procedures, we keep them abreast of recent advances in the field. The student is also exposed to the ever expanding field of interventional radiology.

The course gives excellent clinical and research experience to the student. It facilitates the development of excellent radiological and interpretational skills, along with a sound judgement in the practice of Radiology and its various sub-specialities.

For Postgraduate students, efforts are taken to simplify the subjects like Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita & Ashtanga Hridaya. Students are subjected to daily commentary reading of above subjects and discussed in detail. We help them understand the finer points of the subject. Students are given assignments or short topics for compilation. Topics are given in accordance with their dissertation subjects. Research Methodology is taught according to syllabus. Topics are discussed keeping in mind research in Ayurveda. The importance of research is impressed upon the students so as to inculcate the relevance of research in their minds. If topics are not clear they are explained repeatedly and question answer sessions are arranged. We try to stimulate curiosity in the minds of the students without which research and innovation is not possible. Practicals of Research Methodology are conducted in accordance with the syllabus.

The M. D. in Ayurveda Samhita is a Non – Clinical course provides research training in the study of classical texts of Ayurveda, their scientific exploration and validation. The aim of the course is to provide orientation of specialties and super specialties of Ayurveda and to produce experts and specialist who can be competent and efficient teachers, physicians, surgeons in various field of Ayurveda.

This is a post-graduate program of 3 years tenure , recognised by the Medical Council of India. The program involves rotational postings in the departments of Pathology, Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, General Medicine, TB and Chest Medicine and Dermatology. Besides General Pathology, the student is exposed to quality work in Cytology, Dermatopathology, Neuropathology, Oncopathology and Haematopathology.
