B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering at JKLU aims to create the next generation of computer engineers who will work to address the issues and challenges of the present time through knowledge and interdisciplinary collaboration.
The technological growth, the Internet, and availability and sharing of information have tremendously increased information threats to organisations and individuals making it a challenge for users and system administrators to preserve security. Due to the requirement of sophisticated knowledge and tools to keep systems secure, there is a big need in India and around the world for information security professionals who are well educated about the various aspects of information security. The emergence of Information Security has resulted in the opening of various professional avenues for young professionals, creating a market ready for young IT graduates who can understand the risks involved in data security. With lucrative packages, data security has become the new professional direction for many students. Information Security specialisation will enable students to attain an in-depth knowledge of system and/or managerial aspects of information security, so that they can actively contribute to the prevention, detection and management of security threats, and/or the development of secured systems. It will also allow students with such ability to be easily identified by the IT industry. The main objective of this programme is to train students to become information security professionals for the high-end jobs in security industry.

BCA at JKLU is designed to offer application based learning in computer application through a cross-disciplinary and multi-perspective curriculum that focusses on building skills and a knowledge base for computer application development and IT administration. A number of core courses in contemporary and emerging technologies are well integrated in the course programme to help facilitate learning. Red Hat, Cisco, ORACLE, and IBM certifications are also available to students.

Entrepreneurship plays a vital role in industrial development by shaping business, economy and society. It has now emerged as a viable profession that can be created and fostered through specific educational and training programs. Entrepreneurship is no longer about start-ups, venture capitalists and investors only but also about building an entrepreneurial mindset. Entrepreneurship is a crucial life skill that nurtures an innovative mindset for solving the needs, pains, and problems of the society and create a better world. The programme aims to encourage students to nurture their entrepreneurial traits and think creatively to develop innovative ideas of products and services for commercial exploitation beyond the prototype stage. Students of Entrepreneurship experience a sense of achievement by creating, managing, and leading entrepreneurial setups. It would also enable students to start dreaming big, visualising, and working towards the realization of their dreams.

Cloud computing (or ‘on-demand computing’) is a key distributed systems paradigm which has been gained much attention during the last few years. Cloud computing is a type of Internet-based computing, where data, information and shared resources are made available to computers and other devices on-demand. Cloud technologies are ubiquitous, affecting our routine lives any moment we access the World Wide Web, use a mobile app, or go for online transactions. Cloud computing and storage solutions provide users and enterprises with numerous competencies to store and process their data in third-party data centers. Cloud computing is a model for facilitating pervasive, suitable, on-demand network access to a common pool of configurable computing resources such as webs, servers, storage, applications and services that can be quickly provisioned and freed with nominal management effort.

B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication Engineering programme at JKLU provides fundamental knowledge of the basic concepts and theories of analysis, systems implementation, operation, production, and maintenance of the various applications in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering. This programme aims to develop Electronics and Communication Engineers who are able to leverage cutting edge technologies to lead organisations through their digital transformation.
The concentration in digital systems enables students to design digital systems using various design models and implement these for various applications in space communication, consumer electronics, medical devices, process control, and automation industry. M.Tech. in Automation and Robotics at JKLU prepares graduates in the field who will be able to:

Mechanical Engineering is one of the primordial branches of engineering. The programme incorporates courses from the area of design, manufacturing, and thermal. To remain in sync with the industry, the programme offers compulsory core courses, department electives, interdisciplinary courses, open electives, and practice schools for industrial training. The associated laboratory work and projects provide an opportunity for hands-on experience and a better understanding of the course. Automobile Design and Engineering is a course offered in combination with electrical, electronics, safety, and software engineering. It is highly productive for those who want to work in automotive development and manufacturing companies. Skills required include an artistic bent of mind along with knowledge of interiors and colour designing. An aspirant should also have technical expertise in ergonomics, vehicle body part design, and design software.
