Due to the requirement of sophisticated knowledge and tools to keep systems secure, there is a big need in India and around the world for information security professionals who are well educated about the various aspects of information security. The emergence of Information Security has resulted in the opening of various professional avenues for young professionals, creating a market ready for young IT graduates who can understand the risks involved in data security. With lucrative packages, data security has become the new professional direction for many students. Information Security specialisation will enable students to attain an in-depth knowledge of system and/or managerial aspects of information security, so that they can actively contribute to the prevention, detection and management of security threats, and/or the development of secured systems. It will also allow students with such ability to be easily identified by the IT industry. • Interpret and apply legislative requirements, industry standards, and best practices in a variety of workplaces.
• Collect, manage, and interpret information and data to identify hazardous conditions and practices in a variety of workplaces.
• Prevent and control harm to workers, property, environment and the general public by conceiving, designing, and implementing alternative engineering and management systems and practices in compliance with laws and/ or employer policies by using principles of engineering, industrial safety, risk management, data analytics, automation, and state-of-the-art platforms, components and tools.
• Serve in fields of environmental health and safety, safety engineering, industrial hygiene, safety and occupational health in business, consultancy, industry, government, healthcare, education, research, etc.

B.Des. in Interdisciplinary Design has a flexible curriculum that combines courses from the various domains and disciplines of Design with courses from other institutes of the university. This allows you to leverage new age technology, hone an entrepreneurial mindset and become adept at understanding form and aesthetics, visual language and user-centric approach to develop products and systems in any discipline.
Graduates of Interdisciplinary Design develop a curious mindset and can work in unfamiliar environments as they are trained to deal with ambiguity. They find opportunities in big organisations that wish to leverage design in their business as well as those startups where design plays an important role. With inputs in engineering and entrepreneurship, the Interdisciplinary Design student has a distinct advantage to act as a bridge between different functions in any environment or specialise later in a chosen field.
Interdisciplinary Design graduates find work in design firms that do cross disciplinary work, creative agencies, and startups that need design inputs. They are also singularly eligible to start their own agency. Many go further into a specialisation that they enjoyed in their undergraduate programme. The B.Des. Programme begins with the common foundation programme for all disciplines.

The first year is a Common Foundation across different streams of design that enables you to acquire the requisite basics before embarking on three years of more specialised design education programme. Hands-on skill courses like Design drawing and Workshop skills like material manipulations, including working on a variety of materials like Wood, Bamboo, Sheet metal, Aluminium, and others form an integral part of the course curriculum.

Learn basic design theory, thorough grounding in elements of form, colour, and aesthetics besides the important sensitisation courses like Environmental Perception and History of Design that aim to give you a complete understanding and perspective of Design as a whole.
Apart from these regular inputs, you also get to learn basic computer skills, photography, printing basics, and presentations. Get introduced to critical thinking, culture studies, and communication that give you an edge in your chosen profession. Basics on Leadership courses along with inputs on Entrepreneurship prepare you for a fulfilling career ahead.
