The 3-year B.Sc. Nutrition &Dietetics programme offers opportunities for students to develop Professional competencies in the areas of Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics. Under this programme, students are taught to focus on improving the nutrition status of the people. After the completion of B.Sc. Nutrition & Dietetics degree, a student turns into a qualified nutritionist & dietician, who educate people about proper food choices to promote healthy eating and healthy life-style.

Course Objective

The Department imparts the knowledge of the principles of health promotion and disease prevention among the students. It also helps to achieve knowledge of community based preventive measure and knowledge of social, cultural and environmental factors which contribute to health. The students will be able to administer Oral Hygiene instructions, topical fluoride therapy and fissure sealants to the patients. The department also imparts education regarding the etiology and prevention of Oral Disease and encouraging them by assuring responsibility of their Oral Health. Further the students are also trained to develop and prepare charts, models, posters and visuals on Oral Health Themes with the intention to educate the mass about the importance of Oral Health.

Periodontology is the dental specialty that focuses on prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the gingiva, or “gums” and other surrounding tissues. The Department of Periodontology & Oral Implantology educates the under graduate students in the didactic and clinical applications necessary to perform the entire spectrum of periodontal procedures. The department includes MDS programme which is a three-year program with an intake capacity of 5 students per year. The department also includes the Dental Hygiene Program, which has a intake capacity of 20 students per year. The goal of the Department is to promote periodontal dentistry as dental medicine where prevention can be practiced. Periodontists believe that personal good oral hygiene behaviors are best taught to and practiced by age-specific and social groups through oral health education. Periodontal medicine perceives good oral health as an open gateway to good general systemic health, and documents the many links to general systemic health affected by the destructive presence of inflammation and oral infection from bacteria.

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering. As Digital Technologies occupy the central space in every industry, the Masters course is focused on imparting in-depth knowledge of various aspects of Computer Science and Information Technology to the students. With smartphones and digital gadgets occupying maximum space in our life, M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering is fast emerging as the preferred choice of career. The course involves project based learning and chances to interact with industry and academia experts that help the students to learn and incorporate emerging technologies and understand their practical application for problem solving.

Department is situated on ground level of the Dental College which helps it to work in close association with departments of Oral Medicine and Oral Surgery for patient’s diagnosis and treatment planning. It imparts education and subject expertise on dental anatomy and oral histology as well as oral pathology to under-graduates and post- graduates through first three years of their training for BDS degree and also higher education to budding oral pathologists.

Bachelor of Science in Operation Theatre Technology is an industry-oriented course which prepares the students for a challenging and highly rewarding career in a hospital, nursing homes, trauma/emergency centers, Intensive Care units, CSSD etc. Graduates are eligible for employment overseas where their qualifications, training and experience are highly regarded. With further experience, graduates may be employed by medical equipment manufacturers and development specialists.

M.Sc. in Medical Radio Imaging is a postgraduate course training the students in the application of technology for viewing, analyzing, and interpreting such a non-uniformly composed object as the human body. The course has an extensive curriculum embracing subjects like Anatomy, Physiology, Radiation Physics, Imaging Physics and Radiographic Positioning, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Medicine, Orthopedics, ENT, special radiographic procedures, new imaging modalities and recent advancements.

As a basic introduction to the discipline, this course will introduce the student to the basic principles of Airlines, Tourism & Hospitality industry. The course will make the student to focus on the intricate aspects of three major tourism industry components viz: accommodation, travel and visitor services. This course will indicate how direct and indirect links between these components are mandatory for the very success of a country’s tourism industry and in turn the global tourism industry.
