The PhD programme in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) is a research-based programme. The research can be in any of the broad areas in ECE. The core strength of the institute is currently in the following core areas: signal/speech /image processing, VLSI and embedded systems, robotics, and communications. The mian emphasis of this programme is on a thesis. Work towards the thesis requires a good understanding the state of art in an area, problem formulation, original contributions based on analysis with sufficient mathematical rigour and validation. The research is expected to be of sufficient quality to be publishable in leading international journals and top conferences pertaining to an area of research. This programme has a limited amount of course work that can be completed in one year. The course work is aimed at providing a student with sufficient breadth and to carry out research. The main emphasis is on the research work leading to a thesis. Typically students decide on their research area and faculty advisor within the first year while doing course work.

Today, Computers have changed the very texture of life. The phenomenal technological advancements made in the field of computer science are really mind-boggling. We are heading towards an era of self-driven cars, unmanned airplanes, the robot managed business centers. The day is not far when the computers will read and translate the thoughts of a human being. Computers have touched every sphere of life. The emergence of new technologies like multi-core processor, mobile computing and cloud computing is redefining the boundaries of computing. The interdisciplinary approach has brought with it new challenges. Good technical know-how and skills are in demand by employers across the world. The strong, well equipped Computer Science Department of RayatBahra University is its forte.

The program has been designed in way to develop graduates with key practical skills and interdisciplinary knowledge essential for tomorrow’s leaders. The program also provides necessary skills in written communication, problem-solving, interpersonal understanding and critical thinking.

Environmental Science basically deals with the scientific study of environmental system (air, water, soil and land), the inherent or induced changes on organisms and the environmental damages incurred as a result of human interaction with the environment. It also deals with the study of technical processes involved in the protection of environment from the potentially deleterious effects of human activity and improving the environmental quality for the health and well beings of humans (Environmental Engineering). Main objective of Environmental Sciences education is to emphasize the importance of sustainable development i.e., economic development without degrading the environment. Hence, it covers the areas as environment and enterprise objectives, scope, and structure of the environment, interaction of nature, society and the enterprise, environment impact assessment, economics of pollution, prevention, environmental management standards etc.

Mechanical engineers use the principles of energy, materials, and mechanics to design and manufacture machines and devices of various types. Mechanical engineers create the systems and processes that are responsible to drive the technology and the industry.

They also work on power-using machines such as refrigeration and air-conditioning equipment, machine tools, material-handling systems, elevators, escalators, industrial production equipment, and robots used in manufacturing.
