Civil engineering, the oldest and broadest of the divisions of engineering, implements a range of public and private projects for improving society’s physical infrastructure and the environment. The civil engineer integrates scientific principles with engineering experience to plan, design, and construct networks of highways and railroads, airports, bridges and dams, environmental pollution control systems, industrial structures, water purification and distribution systems, and urban transportation systems that maintain, protect, and enhance the quality of life. Civil engineers are trained to consider the social effects as well as the physical and environmental factors that constrain the planning, design, construction, and operation of their projects. Physiotherapists are trained professionals working in health care. They are trained to restore mobility, alleviate pain and suffering and work to prevent permanent disability in patients. Mechanisation and sedentary life style is the cause of many health related problems and injuries. People often encounter musculo-skeletal problems including backache, stiff shoulders, osteoarthritis, neck pain, etc. To alleviate pain, physiotherapists play an immense role in rehabilitation and thereby improving patient outcome. Therefore, physiotherapists maximise mobility and advance quality of life thereby adding life to years.

Bachelor of Physiotherapy BPT provides a rich breadth of educational experience along with essentials required for healthcare in the country. The course incorporates problem based approach enabling students in identifying, discussing and analysing the patient case from an individualistic perspective. The learning curve of the course is further enhanced by undergoing a mandatory rotating internship program where students can put in practice what they have learnt from the course on patient under the guidance and supervision of competent teachers. M.Sc. Histopathology Histopathologyis a post graduate 2-year course. The objectives of this course are:

• To impart knowledge and understanding of the detailed aspects of the subject to gain professional competence in the arena of Histopathology
• To equip the student with the skills and expertise in carrying out all Histopathology related routine and sophisticated medical diagnostic procedures efficiently.

M.Sc. in Operation Theatre technology and Anaesthesia Technology is a 2 year course designed to provide in depth knowledge & impart skills for working as an assistant to the consultant Anaesthesiologist as well as to assist in preparation of operation theatre before & during an elective or emergency surgery. The course is designed as a full time residency program with responsibilities in managing the patients. The Post graduate student must take part in seminars, short topic discussions, case discussions, journal club presentations and clinical postings. The Academic training also includes lab work, experimental work and Dissertation. The growing popularity of Operation theatre technology and Anaesthesia has been drawing several paramedical enthusiasts towards the career.
