Department of Biotechnology started with a vision to impart in-depth knowledge of biotechnology to create a pool of scientific personnel with expertise in biological engineering. Since then the department has endeavoured to educate and train its students to develop proficiency in each sector of biotechnology. The scheme of courses has been designed keeping in the demand trend in mind. A conscious effort has been made so that curriculum of each programme integrates courses of biological sciences and engineering together with relevant laboratory programs and a compulsory research project of variable duration. The university has recognized the significant role being played by biotechnologists in industrial development and has sought to implement an integrated approach towards education and research. The department strongly believes a teacher has to be involved in active research to be in touch with the recent development in the subject so as to deliver the latest know-how. The department has a strong interdisciplinary research and teaching base in biological sciences and engineering which prepares the student for industry as well as research programs. 

All the basic infrastructural facilities needed for conducting teaching and research programmes in different areas of Biotechnology have been developed in the department. The department is housed in a newly constructed building consisting of classrooms with audio-visual facilities well-equipped students laboratories research laboratories special lab for molecular biology genetic engineering plant tissue culture Microbial technology nano biotechnology and bioinformatics. the students undergo project training in modern biotechnology viz bioinformatics genomics nano biotechnology cancer cell signaling plant and animal Biotechnology structure base drug design neuro biology etc.

M. Tech Mechanical Engineering with specialisation in Production & Industrial Engineering is a two-year post-graduate programme that equips students with a holistic knowledge of various disciplines including engineering sciences, manufacturing technology, management science, and optimization of complex processes, systems, or organisations. The programme trains students to devise efficient systems that integrate machines, workers, materials, information, and energy to provide a service or make a product.

The objective of the programme is to achieve higher productivity by adopting efficient planning, integrated design and operative systems in any manufacturing system. The coursework of the programme is a combination of manufacturing technology and management sciences which enables the students to solve complex problems related to industrial productivity through analysis production sales assessment and maintenance.

B. Tech in Computer Science with specialisation in Data Science & Analytics is a new, exponentially growing field which consists of a set of tools and techniques used to extract useful information from data. The programme encompasses data Science as an interdisciplinary, problem-solving oriented subject that learns to apply scientific techniques to practical problems.

The course curriculum involves a blend of data inference, algorithm development, and technology to analytically solve complex problems. The programme imparts a confluence of skills in three major areas of mathematical expertise, technology hacking skills and business strategy and acumen. 

The core of this programme is the ultimate use of enormous data in creative ways to generate business value. Hidden insights are brought to the fore to enable companies to make smarter business decisions. Data Science programme orients on practical classes and self-study during the preparation of datasets and programming of data analysis tasks.

M.Sc. in Information Technology is a two-year post-graduate programme dedicated to providing knowledge of programming, implementation of common data structures using OOP principles in C++ and ADTs. It covers in-depth analysis of Lists, Stacks, Queues, Trees, and Graphs. Students are introduced to various aspects of information technology including software development, data manipulation, and technology re-engineering.    

This programme is designed to help students explore different types of technology applications and the way in which information is created exchanged and stored. Students may learn how to write code and can explore areas such as information security software applications system design and databases.

M.Tech in Civil Engineering with specialisation in Construction Management is a two-year post-graduate programme aimed at shaping the student’s managerial and technical skills in the field of engineering.

The programme is streamlined to give insights on the advanced process of construction planning and how to ensure efficient and timely implementation of building and construction projects.

Students are imparted advanced learning in Resource Management, Project Management, Risk Management, Construction Optimisation Techniques, Procurement Management and Financial Planning & Procurement. Bachelor of Science in Electronics with a Specialization in Robotics and Automation is a three-year graduate program designed to provide students with a comprehensive and deep understanding of technology and current practices in electronic engineering along with its applications in robotics, including digital systems and control systems.
 
This program helps students develop advanced integrated engineering knowledge, essential for success in the robotics industry and deals with the design, construction, operation and use of robots along with the computer systems for their control, information processing, and sensory feedback.

B.Sc. in Computer Science is a three-year undergraduate programme that focuses on the discipline of computer science. B. Tech in Electronics and Computer Engineering is a four-year undergraduate programme focused on utilising science and applied computing to solve practical problems in the field of computer and electronics. Broadly, the programme intends to inculcate an in-depth understanding of coding, circuits and how to use differential equations techniques for developing excellent Electronics and Computer products and software.

The programme commences with acquainting the students to the principles of Electronics Engineering, High level computer languages like C++, JAVA, Python, Principles of Sensors and Data Acquisition, Transducers and Signal Conditioning, Computer Networks, Computer Organization, Machine Learning, Database Management Systems, Cloud Computing,   Analog Electronics and Network Theory, Introduction to Internet of Things, IoT System Architecture. Progressively the programme deals with subjects like Digital Electronics, Computer Architecture and Technical Skill Enhancement.

In addition, the programme also focuses on improving the skill set of students through industrial visits and practical sessions. A good number of weeks are dedicated training slots incorporated within the curriculum for the same. M. Tech. Electronics & Communication Engineering (VLSI Technology) is a two-year post-graduate programme encompassing the advanced study of modern Electronics and Communication techniques. This specialized programme focuses on instilling skills related to design, development, observation, and application of VLSI Technology.

The VLSI Technology program will cover the fundamentals and engineering aspect of designing and developing IC based systems. Traditionally, VLSI technology has emerged out as a successful collection of two streams: namely material science and electrical engineering.

The state of the art VLSI technology requires research in physical devices as well as novel design and development of electrical circuits. The program will focus on developing hands-on skill of designing semiconductor devices and circuits, architecting systems using embedded components such as, CPU, memory and peripherals.
