Medical Microbiology comprises and integrates the fields of immunology, bacteriology, virology, mycology, and parasitology. The common bond between them is the focus on the causes of infectious diseases and on the reactions of the host to the pathogens. With the discovery of novel pathogens and emergence of current drug-resistant microbes make the anti-microbial therapies more and more difficult and complicated every day along with the burden of incurable infectious diseases. The objective of specialized course of medical microbiology is to provide an in-depth knowledge of the etiologic organisms causing disease and the pathogenic mechanisms leading to clinically manifest infections into its host. This knowledge is a necessary prerequisite for the diagnosis, therapy, and prevention of any infectious diseases, indispensable for both biotech, pharma industries and academic sectors.

As pharmaceutical microbiology is crucial to the manufacture and production of drugs, biologics and devices, it is absolutely important that people working in these industries have a strong understanding and in-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical microbiological principles, techniques, processes and strategies in order to avoid any potentially costly and life-threatening failures and consequences.

Masters in Microbiology is a two year course that offers two specialization streams namely Food and Environmental Microbiology and Medical and Pharmaceutical Microbiology.

M.Sc. with specialization of nutrition and dietetics is two year master program, which covers all theory and practical courses of nutrition and dietetics.  This program enable the students to learn the methods of assessing human nutritional requirements, nutritional assessment and diet planning.

Banking, Management Insurance gives students an in-depth understanding of the economic, financial and banking affairs. It helps students gain adequate knowledge about the management of financial risk along with the general management areas such as strategy, marketing, and organisational studies. In this program, a student learns about the basics food preservation and conservation. In this particular specialization, the Design of food process plant, Food plant location, Food plant layout, requirements like water supply, Electricity supply, clean environment and location, Contraction material used, Waste management, cleaning and sanitisation are main course content. The equipment used during food processing, packaging requirement, utensils, standards related to material used in construction of food processing equipment’s, standardisation of food process, arrangements of equipment’s in best possible way.  The food processing Industry visit carried out for practical knowledge.  Food Industry Trainings are also carried out. Scope and importance of food plant engineering, Processing methods and their requirements, Preservation by drying, Preservation by low temperature, heat treatments, and Food conversion operation. In this a student learns about various techniques and procedures involved in food packaging. This subject helps a student to understand the importance of processing of various kinds of food products. This course covers both practical and theoretical aspects of food industry.

Propulsion and Engine systems plays a vital role in development of various automobile, transport vehicles, aircrafts, rocket engines, ships and navel transport vehicle. The major source of energy to these systems is through the combustion and hence the design of combustion chamber plays a vital role. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) explores the design, monitoring and analysis of propulsion and engine systems. The core part of the course consists of modules, which are considered to build the necessary foundation of the combustion modelling. The advancements in the combustion technology, challenges in designing advance combustion chambers like burners, IC engine Combustion systems, jet engine combustion systems, fuel injectors, supersonic combustors in Scramjets and Rocket engine combustions. The Modelling of these systems are associated with various challenges like flame stabilization studies, turbulence combustion, Spray Systems, multiphase combustion, Microgravity combustion, flames and reactive flows, This module covers Recent Trends in Modelling of Combustion and its available numerical models and computational tools along with the expectation for further developing CFD techniques in the field.
