M.Sc. (Petroleum Geo-Sciences)- Environmental Geo-Chemistry

Environmental geochemistry has grown rapidly over the last decade and is the core of environmental sector. Global environmental consultancy market is the primary destination for suitably skilled graduates. This field is currently growing at its strongest rate for five years. Environmental Geochemistry expertise is key to many aspects of the day-to-day work of environmental consultants, geologists, civil, structural and mining engineers, environmental regulatory authorities, mining and oil companies.

Environmental geochemistry is concerned with the sources, distribution and interactions of chemical elements in rocks, soils, waters, air and biological material. This program enables students to have in-depth knowledge regarding the oil, gas, chemical, and the petrochemical sector, with major future prospects in industries like Exxon Mobil, Halliburton, Shell, Reliance, Phillips Carbon Black Ltd., Dr. Reddy’s Lab, etc. The program deals with courses like Petroleum refining technology, Petrochemical process technology, Catalyst design and catalysis, Chemical Industry 4.0 etc. which prepares the student to be ready for any oil and gas industry. We have our student alumni with this degree doing extremely well in both PSUs like Indian Oil Corporation Limited and also private sector like Exxon Mobil, Halliburton, Shell, Reliance etc.
