The courses will provide broad perspectives and integrated knowledge to the students from Innovation →Discovery → Approval→ Commercialization which implies regulatory affairs are essential to bring the product to the market globally. Masters in Microbiology is a two year course that offers two specialization streams namely Food and Environmental Microbiology and Medical and Pharmaceutical Microbiology. The stream Food and Environmental Microbiology offers electives courses such as probiotics and pre-biotics, food contamination and food borne diseases, bio fertilizers and bioremediation. Each stage of course is one up the previous level. Pre-biotics and pro-biotics covers how microbes are used in therapy and in impacting our over-all health. Food borne diseases delves upon how infectious diseases are contracted through food and prevention measures. The last course in the specialization bio-fertilizers and bioremediation elaborates the role of microbes in killing other microbes, pests and insects; and bio-remediation elaborates on the use of microbes in removal of toxins, contaminants and pollutants from environment. These three courses enable a student to become prospective food and or environmental microbiologist. The syllabus is designed such that students intern in industries/companies of their interest and do multi-disciplinary research project at SoHSSchool of Health Sciences, UPES in tie up with School of Computer Science, School of Business, School of Engineering and School of Design. The focus remains on outcome based education with the outcome being highly employable, problem solving microbiologists.  

Pure mathematics includes developing the fundamental tools used by mathematicians, such as algebra and calculus, describing multi-dimensional space, or a better understanding of the philosophical meaning of mathematics and numbers themselves. Pure mathematics is the study of the basic concepts and structures that underlie mathematics. Its purpose is to search for a deeper understanding and an expanded knowledge of mathematics itself. 

The full term of two years and the syllabus for the program is divided into four semesters. This Master’s program is also an ideal preparation for various PhD programs in basic sciences and engineering.

This integrated course trains students in two different fields – commerce and legislative regulations – as a comprehensive concept for five years duration. The program provides students with a vast knowledge of business, commerce and law subjects that are crucial in the professional world such as Business Statistics, Business Communication, Auditing, Economics, as well as Law of Contract, Law of Taxation, Media Law, Competition Law, Corporate Law, International Trade Law, Corporate Finance, Investment Law, Corporate Restructuring, and the likes.

In addition this program also offers Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AIML) applications in Clinical Research to upgrade Medical and Health Science. The course is a concoction of the study of commerce and law. By completing this integrated course, a student can learn about two different professional fields. The specialised law course, in its five-years duration, equips the students with the knowledge of both commerce and legislative regulations as a comprehensive concept.

The specialisation educates students in regulating and resolving disputes relating to both individual labour laws i.e. the employees’ rights at work and the employment standards as well as the tripartite labour laws i.e. the relationship between the employer, employee, and the union. UPES provides students with an opportunity to complete two seminar papers and a dissertation exclusively in labour laws under the mentorship of the faculty and an industry-based professional.

Medical Microbiology comprises and integrates the fields of immunology, bacteriology, virology, mycology, and parasitology. The common bond between them is the focus on the causes of infectious diseases and on the reactions of the host to the pathogens. With the discovery of novel pathogens and emergence of current drug-resistant microbes make the anti-microbial therapies more and more difficult and complicated every day along with the burden of incurable infectious diseases. The objective of specialized course of medical microbiology is to provide an in-depth knowledge of the etiologic organisms causing disease and the pathogenic mechanisms leading to clinically manifest infections into its host. This knowledge is a necessary prerequisite for the diagnosis, therapy, and prevention of any infectious diseases, indispensable for both biotech, pharma industries and academic sectors.

As pharmaceutical microbiology is crucial to the manufacture and production of drugs, biologics and devices, it is absolutely important that people working in these industries have a strong understanding and in-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical microbiological principles, techniques, processes and strategies in order to avoid any potentially costly and life-threatening failures and consequences.

Master of Technology in Chemical Engineering with Specialization In Process Automation is an industry-oriented program training the students in chemical process automation. The students will be provided hands-on training and skills ins process automation, Advanced process control, process optimization etc., which will make them industry ready.
