UPES School of Design’s Postgraduate Programme in Interaction Design trains students to research, analyze, prototype, and design concepts in business, social, and cultural contexts within existing and emerging technologies. Students will gain proficiency in creating engaging user interfaces, ranging from 2D screen (UI for web and mobile) to 3D (AR/VR and will be able to conceptualize user experiences around new and emerging technology, and design to make interfaces more usable, useful and pleasant.

This program induces the thinking skills for the development of mobile applications at all enterprise segments. It also inculcates the transformation of industries and related organisations adapting to the “App Revolution” and initiated the incorporation towards bridging the latest technology and industry requirements.

A business strategy most successful in our country may be a fiasco in another country due to difference in their attitudes and culture. Moreover, due to globalization, in MNCs, one has to deal with personnel/employees from different countries with varied backgrounds and culture. To be successful in business, one should be aware of these cultural disparities of its employees.

This professional integrated degree of arts with the profound knowledge of the law gives a double boost to the career of students aspiring to join the legal fraternity. The subjects covered under arts include Sociology, History, Political Science in correlation with legal subjects of Criminal Law, Civil Law, Administrative Law, Constitutional Law and Labour Laws under the proficient guidance of highly qualified faculty members.

This course has been designed to examine the interactions between food production and consumption, health, and environment through environmental and food justice lenses. Building on concepts developed in food systems, it explores topics such as public health disparities and their structural causes, environmental toxins in the food system and their impact on workers and consumers, as well as policies that have or could affect these outcomes, in both historical and contemporary contexts.

Apart from conceptual discussion and debates, the program also includes field trips and/or guest lectures to give practical experience to the learners.

This integrated program is focused on innovative research training in the field of microbiology to pursue a career in industry, academic or government research laboratories. The program offers specialization in Food Microbiology, Biochemical processes and Analysis besides minors in diverse areas such as Engineering, Computer Science, Management, Law, Design and Media.

M.Sc. (Petroleum Geo-Sciences)- Unconventional Hydrocarbons

Unconventional hydrocarbons include shale gas, tight oil, tight gas, coalbed methane, and gas hydrates. Oil and gas industry is going through a change, where the conventional production is steadily being replaced by unconventional hydrocarbon exploitation. After the success of shale gas in North America and its impact on the conventional oil and gas industry, it is believed that the future of oil and gas will see more new unconventional technologies and workflows that will allow increasingly efficient exploitation.

While there are some common aspects to all unconventional resources, there are also some specific issues related to each of the resources. This course helps in giving a broad overview of what makes a resource unconventional, what are the common elements that influence exploration decisions, drilling and completion decisions, stimulations, and ultimately sustaining the business model. At the same time, it also makes the students aware of the key specifics that relate to each of the unconventional resources especially its evaluation, exploration, drilling, production, and reservoir management.

This course explores in detail the types of rules, policies, and controls put in place to determine the behaviour of a corporation, and the intended outcome of those measures. Taking a practical look at how to identify, set, and uphold a corporate governance means that the students will be able to enrich their understanding and skillset in this area, with the support of experienced practitioners who can demonstrate real-life examples to contextualize what one learns.

PhD Civil Engineering is doctorate level degree.It is a course of study that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of structures that are integral to the general public, like roads, dams, bridges, canals, and additionally railways, sewage systems, etc.

UPES School of Design’s Under Graduate Programme, B.Des. in Product Design lays emphasis on a process-centric approach of participation and teamwork to shape the students’ education. The curriculum is designed in a way that gradually increases in complexity levels and covers broad areas that product designers will come across in their professional careers. This specialised undergraduate program deals with the business, policy governance, regulatory, and legal aspects of various non-renewable/fossil fuels and renewable energy sources. The course covers the business cycle operations, regulatory policies, governance mechanism and all-round legal perspectives in the entire energy basket market including commercial, taxation, and environmental governance aspects.
