The Specialization in Media Management, Marketing Campaigns and Strategic Communications, equips students with a strategic 360-degree corporate communication toolset for effective marketing communication. The course allows students to understand the implementation of governmental policy that serves the population, the workings of political activity, and the process of developing public programs for the society. Moreover, the program provides the theoretical underpinning, conceptual and analytical tools, fundamentals, and the ideological dynamics of the field of study. These are critical for the effective functioning of public offices.

Smart grid and computing represent a new generation of hardware, software and network that connect physical infrastructure with analytic computing systems. Smart grid is the emerging energy system wherein the application of information technology, tools and techniques make the grid run more efficiently. Frequently occurring high impact low probability natural disaster and cyber-attack creates the need for future-ready resilient smart grid. The challenges and opportunities of emerging and future smart grids can be addressed by computing techniques. The objective of this minor specialisation is to provide different computing applications for energy management in the smart grid architecture and science of resilient smart grid against natural disaster and cyber-attacks.

In this specialisation, students learn about essential concepts such as data structures, algorithms, OOPS concepts using Java, databases, software engineering and design processes. Students will also obtain an in-depth knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence by implementing real-world problems in a wide variety of application domains such as robotics, computer vision, natural language processing, etc. Students will be experienced in machine learning pipeline, data, models, algorithms and empirics.

Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Chemistry covers a broad spectrum of activities related to the research based on the interaction between drugs and biological targets and the relationship of chemical composition and dynamics to biological activities. This includes drug design, discovery of medical needs and the study of chemical substances at the molecular level. The interdisciplinary research involves bio-organic and medicinal chemistry, computational chemistry, development of synthetic methodology, chromatography techniques, natural products isolation and synthesis, chemical biology, analytical and spectroscopic techniques etc.

The M.Tech. Program in Energy Systems and Sustainability provides scope for engineering innovators / entrepreneurs with a mission to develop sustainable energy systems and solutions for the future. Program delivery is intended by aligning the content as per the industry working methodology. B.Sc. in Polymer  chemistry offered at UPES is a three-year undergraduate course.
