UPES School of Design’s Post Graduate Programme, M.Des. in Product Design curriculum is designed in a way that gradually increases in complexity levels and covers broad areas that product designers will come across in their professional careers. Collaborative projects with industrial houses, social sector, government and multinational companies are a part of the education process.

The program has been designed in such a way that it imparts knowledge on regulation, financing, trading, business development, and analytics. After pursuing the specialization, students will be able to analyse global and Indian energy, and power markets. The students will also be able to work out optimal scenarios for development and investment besides evolving an organization strategy and a project specific marketing and financial plan.

In this specialisation, apart from essential concepts such as data structures, algorithms, OOPS concepts using Java and python, databases, software engineering and design processes. Students will also obtain an in-depth knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence by implementing relevant real-world problems in a wide variety of application domains such as robotics, computer vision, natural language processing, etc. Students will be experienced in machine learning pipeline, data models, algorithms, and empirics.

The course is a concoction of the study of commerce and law. By completing this integrated course, a student can learn about two different professional fields. The specialised law course, in its five-years duration, equips the students with the knowledge of both commerce and legislative regulations as a comprehensive concept.

Aerodynamics is the science of moving air and its impact on solid bodies placed in the flow field as an obstacle. Being a sub-field, most of the equations from fluid dynamics apply to aerodynamics as well, including all the governing equations, turbulence, boundary layer theory, and ideal gas assumption. Racing cars and wind turbines are examples of technologies outside of aerospace in which aerodynamics engineering play a prominent part. Aerodynamic engineering often uses a mix of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), wind tunnel work and ultimately flight-testing to achieve a solution. CFD is widely accepted as a key tool for aerodynamic design. Reynolds Average Navier-Stokes (RANS) solutions are a common tool, and methodologies like Large Eddy Simulation (LES) that were once confined to simple canonical flows (isotropic turbulence in a box, channel flow), are moving to complex engineering applications.

This program provides students with an understanding of international trade negotiations and their relevance in the global business environment. The course equips them with the latest developments taking place in the area of foreign trade, and the ability to apply that knowledge in practical situations.

UPES provides unique and focused Integrated M.Sc-PhD course aiming to deliver expertise in theoretical and experimental understanding of Physics and its allied disciplines. The program is designed such that after completing it, students would be able to excel in academia, industries, and research. The faculty members in the department have diverse research expertise including but not limited to materials science, nanotechnology, renewable energy, computational materials science, high energy physics, nuclear physics, plasmonics, spintronics, etc., which would provide students flexibility in opting for their PhD topic. M.Sc is a two-year postgraduate program in Pharmacology and Toxicology that provides broad, multidisciplinary training that enables our students to pursue careers in the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology industries as well as in academic and government research laboratories. The last semester of the program is dedicated to dissertation work making students aware about the application of concepts on real-life challenges. Pharmaceutical Chemist expertise in the synthesis, purification, characterization as well as in-silico screening of drug molecules.

It is an important branch of pharmaceutical research as it is major part of drug discovery and development phase. Major courses under pharmaceutical chemistry are organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutical technology, pharmaceutical analysis, quality assurance and good laboratory practices.

Forensic science is a highly advanced research method used in criminal and civil investigations to address critical questions. An integral part of the criminal justice system, it includes techniques such as the analysis of fingerprints, DNA analysis, and ballistics and explosives.

This course has been designed keeping in mind the close interrelation between law and forensic science to make students well-versed with the fundamental and advanced concepts of forensic science and its application in legal jurisprudence.
