The specialised law course, in its five-years duration, equips the students with the knowledge of both commerce and legislative regulations as a comprehensive concept.

This is a 5-year integrated law degree program – the first two years of the program focus primarily on arts and the last three on law subjects. The program prepares students for both national as well as international criminal justice systems. The specialisation educates students in regulating and resolving disputes relating to both individual labour laws i.e. the employees’ rights at work and the employment standards as well as the tripartite labour laws i.e. the relationship between the employer, employee, and the union. UPES provides students with an opportunity to complete two seminar papers and a dissertation exclusively in labour laws under the mentorship of the faculty and an industry-based professional.

This course provides a holistic view of the techno-commercial and policy-cum-regulatory framework of energy and its relationship with other sectors. The curriculum deepens the students’ understanding of the relationship between commercial economics, industry profitability, regulatory reforms vis-a-vis conservation, development, environmental impact, and judicious use of resources.
