To create substantial impact through teaching, research, and application, the discipline of psychology provides students with the opportunity to develop an understanding of behaviour and experience from a variety of theoretical perspectives. The students are provided specialization in a wide variety of psychological topics including general, social, abnormal and organizational psychology. B.Sc. (Hons.) Biotechnology is a 3-year program with an enriched curriculum comprising of basic courses (cell biology, biochemistry, animal and plant physiology, developmental biology) and applied courses (plant and animal biotechnology, bioinformatics, bioprocess technology and others). Specific courses target skill development, employability and entrepreneurship potential of biotechnology.

B.Tech Civil Engineering is a 4 years (8 semesters) undergraduate program designed to create engineers who can work for the society for creating space to improve their living standard, create safe and secure environment from natural and manmade disasters. The teaching – learning pedagogy involves not only class room teaching but also experiential learning through practical in the lab, fields and interactions with experts, training in workshops, internships, live projects and field work. B.Sc. (Hons.) Food Technology is an undergraduate three-year degree programmes are designed with the goal of providing expertise to the students in the field of Food Science and Technology. This program will provide students with in-depth knowledge of the Technical, scientific and professional approaches towards the physicochemical, microbiological, engineering and textural aspects of food. The program includes detailed study of subjects such as Advance Food Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Technology of Cereals, Principles of Food quality, Bakery Technology, Technology of Fruits, Vegetables and Plantation Crop, Technology of Milk and Milk Products, Technology of Food Preservation, Food Microbiology and Engineering etc. Courses on English communication, seminar presentation, reasoning skill, personality development targets an overall improvement in the aptitude of student along with enhancement of communication skills.  Industrial visits, participation in seminar/conference, training programmes impart additional technical skills. Dissertation specifically inculcates research aptitude and scientific writing skills.

Data analytics is used to analyse the raw data into knowledge so that it can provide insights to make better decisions.  The data moves through four stages: Ingest Prepare, Analysis, and Action. Data Analytics find applications across a range of areas, such as, decision making, planning for healthcare industry, market research, banking, etc. There is a huge demand for data analytics expert and in view of that Uttaranchal University offers BCA – Data Analytics, a three-year undergraduate program designed to fulfil the requirements of the IT industries.

The program BCA-Data analytics includes courses like Python Programming, R Programming, SAS, Data Science Tools, Computer Based Optimization Techniques, Machine Learning Theory, Big Data Analytics, Probability Statistics and Techniques, Data Warehouse and Data Mining.

Microbiology, a branch of medicine and is a study of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and parasites. These bacteria can cause various diseases in human beings. B.Sc. Medical Microbiology provides students with the knowledge of microbial pathogenesis, epidemiology, disease pathology, and immunology. The programme trains aspirants to perform effective treatment on infectious diseases and make certain clinical applications of microbes for the improvement of health. Along with the study of pathology, biochemistry, and immunology, students will also learn about the human immune system and the immune response to a variety of infectious microbes.

B.A. (Hons.) English with research is an undergraduate programme in English Literature. The programme teaches about English Language and Literature and the way it has developed into its modern form along with highlighting varied aspects of English society through its genres like Drama, Poetry, Novel, etc.

The Programme is intended for the students who have a strong interest in English Language and Literature and who show promise in the study of either or both. Students with research inclination receive an intensive educational experience with respect to the courses offered. The student learns to critically analyze and debate on a variety of texts, and acquires knowledge of literary movements, periods and critical approaches. The student develops comprehensive written and spoken communication skills, becoming adept at arguing a point, framing a narrative and analyzing various levels of meaning.
