Bachelor of Engineering Technology (BEngTech) Electrical Major is a three year degree comprising of core and elective courses, with a focus on the design and implementation of engineering technology. The BEngTech (Electrical) is fully accredited by Engineering New Zealand (EngNZ) and is recognised internationally under the Sydney Accord. In your first year of study you'll develop core engineering skills in computing, mathematics, management and the engineering sciences, plus some discipline-specific topics. Flexibility has been built into this degree, allowing you to not only to study part-time, full-time, and/or in the evenings, but to choose two specializations at no extra cost and requiring no additional time. Alternatively, you can personalize your degree by including up to five elective courses (Level 5 and above, equal to 15 credits each) from any subject area of your choosing.

This comprehensive, hands-on programme covers project management, operations management and e-commerce in relation to supply chain logistics. You'll learn from industry experts how to identify important phases of supply chain and logistical management from internal and external perspectives; evaluate and critique existing operations; identify supply chain and logistical issues; and create effective and sustainable management solutions.

You'll also gain a practical understanding of e-commerce and its role in business; develop concepts and analytical methods for managing people and resources; explore the basic principles and terminology of project management; and appraise project plans using MSProject.

This two-year programme will equip you with the essential skills and knowledge needed to work as a quantity surveyor, on both residential and commercial building projects. It covers means measurement, estimating and cost planning, as well as procurement, programming and financial administration of contracts. Work experience components are included in the second year of the programme for full-time students.
