The Microbiology major prepares you for careers in this interesting and dynamic field.

Microbiology is the study of living organisms and infectious agents that can’t be seen by the naked eye. You explore the role of microorganisms across many areas – human health, industry, agriculture and the environment.

You develop the skills for careers in a wide variety of settings in industry, research or government organisations. Graduates of the Microbiology major could also be involved with the industries that produce antibiotics, foods and drinks, or alternative fuels.

In the Management specialisation in the Master of Business you further your understanding of current management issues and research a topic of your interest.

A Master of Laws will deepen your legal knowledge and legal research skills.

We offer a range of study options to suit your needs you can complete the Master of Laws entirely by thesis, entirely by coursework, or through a combination of coursework and research.
One area of focus for our taught program is advanced criminal law, enabling you to gain further expertise in that area. Other courses focus on human rights law, and indigenous rights and law.

With the Mechatronics Engineering major in the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) you develop professional skills in several engineering disciplines, including complex technical, business and project management techniques.

Mechatronics engineers design and develop smart products and processes. They use principles of mechanical, electrical and electronics engineering, and computer science to create solutions and systems that are effective and viable. The Mechatronics Engineering major covers engineering fundamentals as well as human-centred design and systems thinking.

Study communication design and apply graphic design and digital skills to create typographic and visual meaning in graphic and interaction design, branding, illustration, photography, advertising, motion graphics and art direction. Communication design focuses on generating content and visually communicating ideas, messages and meaning to respond to societal, environmental and commercially relevant themes and issues. Because it's such a diverse subject, it can lead to a wide range of design careers.

Developing new products and processes, and experimenting with the make-up and behaviour of different chemicals are some of the challenges chemistry graduates get to take on. A degree in chemistry opens the door to a wide range of career options, both in and out of the laboratory.

You gain essential practical laboratory skills needed to be successful in scientific employment here and overseas. AUT chemistry graduates have careers in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, petrochemicals, toiletries, plastics and polymers.
