Spatial designers create places for people to live, work, play and imagine. Study the Spatial Design major to prepare for a career designing interiors, furniture, exhibitions, events, outdoor spaces, retail environments, scenes for stage and film, and art installations. As a spatial design student, you unlock the potential of places by designing spatial environments that support, influence, and transform how we live now and into the future. Industrial design is an exciting and rapidly evolving profession. AUT design graduates are award-winning and well-prepared for a changing future.

Products can be tangible,three-dimensional manufactured objects like consumer products, furniture, packaging, medical and sports equipment or they can be systems, services and interfaces.Many products are solutions to real-life problems.The Industrial Design major helps you develop key research,critical and creative thinking, design thinking, ideation, prototyping and communication skills.

Ethical practices, along with environmental and social responsibility underpin all aspects of the Industrial Design major. You work in open plan design studios and individual student work areas with wireless networking, and have access to world-class laboratories and workshops.

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) is for students with an undergraduate degree in applied mathematics, computer science or science.

At the heart of the programme is the honours dissertation; an independent small-scale research project on a scientific topic. We have strong links with key industry organisations, and many students complete their research project in collaboration with an industry partner. courses in the Bachelor of Science (Honours) focus on the latest developments in applied mathematics, computer science and science.
