Overview
The Bachelor of Contemporary International Studies is a fully accredited interdisciplinary degree program taken over three years of full-time study. Students may elect to obtain a major in a specialist area of study (International Relations, International Business, Language Studies, and Japanese Studies). The course also includes eight compulsory interdisciplinary papers and six language and culture papers. Tourism and travel is about exploration and experiences, and one of the highlights of this program are the field trips for students to experience tourism and hospitality centers around New Zealand. An integral part of the programme is the work experience component, where students can experience what it’s like to work in a customer-facing environment, and directly apply their knowledge gained in class.

The MCIS is designed to prepare students who are interested in international business, international relations and sustainable development. The program’s suite of papers exposes students to a high level of academic inquiry.
Concepts, methodologies and insights from different disciplines provide a truly unique framework for critical analysis and the evaluation of business operations. Graduates will be able to identify and understand critical elements of a particular management research problem, design and execute independent scholarly and/or applied research, and suggest recommendations to a wide variety of stakeholders.
