Later you may have courses you have passed under the diploma qualification credited to a bachelor’s degree. That will be on the proviso that the courses comply with the regulations of the degree in question.

The course is open to anyone who has gained admission to Massey University, but in some cases, specific courses may require a subject background at level 3 NCEA.

The social, economic, and cultural importance of the mass media for communication in modern life requires critical analysis and understanding. In a world where it is difficult to escape the impact of the media, media studies provide analysis. It gives you an understanding of the production, consumption, and content of the media industries.

The approach is interdisciplinary – you’ll draw on on areas like:

• Linguistics
• Textual analysis
• Cultural studies
• Aesthetics
• Politics
• Ideologies of gender, race, social class, and national identity.

You’ll also learn about the media industry's codes, conventions, and production techniques.

The course includes a practical component as a useful learning supplement.

You may not have previous marketing experience, but have found yourself a manager of marketing staff. Or you may be looking at moving into a management role in the marketing area. If so, Massey’s Master of Management (Marketing) will give you the in-depth knowledge and skills you need.

The Master of Business Administration (Business Sustainability) specialisation is about building businesses that last and organisations that are resilient in the face of a fast changing world.This MBA specialisation enables you to build management competence and governance structures that facilitate the identification and implementation of innovative practices, products, and services that are sustainable and resilient.

This program will expose you to businesses and experts within New Zealand and overseas who have had successes and overcome challenges in building sustainable enterprises. Both the strategic and operational aspects of developing and leveraging innovative sustainable products and services while mitigating risk are addressed in this specialisation.
