Gain an understanding of the political, economic, social, and cultural factors that influence the development, implementation, and evaluation of social policy in Aotearoa New Zealand. You’ll study law, politics and the roles of central and local government in a democratic society. This will give you insights into the relationships between the state, judiciary, legal system, political parties and public in shaping legislation and developing policy.

Massey’s Graduate Diploma in Information Sciences will give you the software design and development skills needed to make you a sought-after employee, both in New Zealand, and internationally.

Massey is one of the few universities in New Zealand where your information sciences qualification covers all five disciplines of computer science, data science, information technology, information systems and software engineering.  Many graduates have found it really useful to complete the Graduate Diploma “with no endorsement”.  This means that you can select the courses you are most interested in from across the range of subjects.  You are strongly encouraged to select “no endorsement”.

The qualification can be configured to assist you if you are either wanting to become a financial planner or those already in the industry that are looking to gain further certification. Please note that this qualification does not satisfy the educational requisite established by the Financial Markets Authority under the current Code of Professional Conduct for Financial Advice Services. A student seeking to be licensed as a financial adviser in New Zealand should consider taking the Certificate in Business Studies (Financial Services pathway) which does grant such status. It will be possible to cross credit some of the credits from the certificate back into the bachelor’s degree as part of the elective schedule.

Human nutrition is a progressive, multi-disciplinary science requiring a wide range of knowledge. That could range from nutrient supply and metabolic processing to psychosocial and behavioural factors influencing diet. The Bachelor of Science (Human Nutrition) is designed to give you a clear understanding of basic nutritional principles. You’ll also learn about the composition of food, human requirements for nutrients, and how the body processes food and nutrients.

The program also highlights the physiological changes that occur as a result of excesses or deficiencies of various nutrients in the diet. It also looks at the changes in nutritional needs from conception through birth, growth, adulthood, and ageing. You’ll gain an understanding of factors that influence food choice and awareness of practices to promote dietary change.
