This unique degree is for those who love being creative, writing and the performing arts, but also want to discover how the media shape our identities and our world.

In this unique composite major, you’ll study courses in both media studies and expressive arts. You’ll blend theory with creative practice.

Expressive arts is unique in New Zealand and was created in response to student demand. You’ll get to study a combination of the three creative discipline areas of theatre, creative writing, or digital media production.

In the media studies part of your study, you will learn about the production, consumption and content of media and their social, cultural, political and economic implications.

You will learn how decisions are made on what is communicated, how media forms and industry structures shape those messages, and how this impacts our lives and understanding of the world.

Being a manager or entrepreneur means being able to think on your feet, analyse situations and make impactful decisions, often under pressure.

The Bachelor of Business (Management) will give you a grounding in the latest management principles, and the skills to think analytically. You’ll learn how to evaluate and use the information you have at hand to assess complex situations and problem-solve.

To understand learning in social settings of both formal and informal education, we must also understand the psychological concepts behind learning and social interaction. The Diploma in Arts (Educational Psychology) draws on knowledge from both psychology and education to introduce new ways of thinking about learning and development. It addresses the topics of learning and motivation, individual and systemic educational strategies that are inclusive of all learners.

Massey’s Diploma in Arts (Statistics) will give you the skills to do calculations, draw graphics, and display new insights.

Statistics provides tools vital for the collecting, analysing and presenting of data. Statistics is much more than the organisation and display of data. Careful analysis of underlying questions and critical examination of the sources of data are part of the art of statistics. Modelling the variability in data to calculate the reliability of answers is part of its science.

Statisticians use computers extensively to do calculations, draw graphics and bring new insights. With increasing use of technology, people with data handling skills have become highly sought after in the workplace. More and more professions, from the every day to the exotic, depend on data and numerical reasoning.

Build on your undergraduate interests and develop your analysis and research skills. With a Postgraduate Diploma in Arts (Economics) at Massey, you’ll build on your undergraduate degree. You’ll further investigate topics in economics that have taken your interest.

Massey’s Graduate Diploma in Information Sciences will give you the software design and development skills needed to make you a sought-after employee, both in New Zealand, and internationally.

Massey is one of the few universities in New Zealand where your information sciences qualification covers all five disciplines of computer science, data science, information technology, information systems and software engineering.  Many graduates have found it really useful to complete the Graduate Diploma “with no endorsement”.  This means that you can select the courses you are most interested in from across the range of subjects.  You are strongly encouraged to select “no endorsement”.

The Graduate Diploma in Arts (English) will give you the equivalent of an undergraduate major in English without completing a second bachelor’s degree. The Graduate Diploma in Arts (English) is a bridging tool for graduates in other subjects to get the equivalent of a major in English. You can then apply for a postgraduate qualification in English if you wish.

With Massey’s Postgraduate Diploma in Construction (Digital Built Environment) you’ll gain construction management skills for the modern world.
You’ll gain knowledge in the following areas:

• Application of Building Information Modelling (BIM) tools across the lifecycle of a building project.
• Examine data collection and analysis techniques, and their application in construction research.
• Become familiar with new technologies such as drones, virtual reality, 3D printing and other technologies as they apply to the construction industry.
