This qualification will give you the skills you need to apply for your Maritime New Zealand (MNZ) Mate Fishing Vessel - Unlimited Certificate of Competency (COC). The program will give you the skills you need to gain your MNZ Mate Fishing Vessel - Unlimited COC, allowing you to work as Mate of a fishing vessel of 24m or more in length in any operating area at sea. On completion of this qualification return after 12 months and gain your Skipper Fishing Vessel – Unlimited certification to get the skills for your Maritime New Zealand (MNZ) Skipper Fishing Vessel - Unlimited COC. This programme contains all the training and supplementary certificates you will need for your COC. Including STCW basic safety training, advanced fire fighting, PISC and rescue boats, GMDSS Radio Operator.

This program builds upon the knowledge and skills gained in the New Zealand Diploma in Arts and Design (Level 5), and pathways onto the third year of the Bachelor of Arts and Media. During this program you will complete four compulsory courses in:

This one year program is designed to build on scientific knowledge gained from your previous degree level study and give you practical experience to work daily in a marine environment. The Postgraduate Diploma in Sustainable Aquaculture will give you an advanced theoretical understanding and the technical and practical skills related to sustainable aquaculture practices. It will provide you with the skills to critically assess aquaculture systems. As part of an internship or in your existing employment, you will also complete an industry research project. This will encourage you to support the development of sustainable growth in the aquaculture sector through innovation. The program has been developed in consultation with the aquaculture and scientific community as well as industry representatives. After completing this program, you’ll be able to enter the counselling profession at a beginning practitioner level. Practical placements are an essential part of the program and you’ll spend time working in community agencies and organisations. Once you’ve graduated, you’ll be able to apply for provisional membership of a relevant professional body such as the NZAC, Te Wh?riki Tautoko, DAPAANZ or NZ Christian Counsellors Association. You’ll have developed the skills and professional attributes to enable you to work collaboratively within this increasingly complex and interdisciplinary sector.
