The New Zealand Diploma in Business Level 5 Leadership and Management strand allows you to launch your career in management with the operational skills to lead the charge in business’s daily functions. You will learn the fundamentals of business operations covering leadership, human resource management, law, Treaty of Waitangi and more. In addition the applied teaching method will provide a safe environment to develop essential employable skills including effective communication, collaboration and team work across mediums, problem solving and decision making. This program builds upon the knowledge and skills gained in the New Zealand Diploma in Arts and Design (Level 5), and pathways onto the third year of the Bachelor of Arts and Media. During this program you will complete four compulsory courses in:

• Advanced Critical Studies (Lab and Project)
• Professional Practice (Lab and Project)

There are a range of opportunities available to help you into employment and future study in this growing and key industry sector. This level 5 program is the first year of the diploma qualifications. You will focus on fitness techniques, health, nutrition, anatomy and physiology, training, coaching and motivating people with the sector. This program replaces the Diploma in Applied Fitness. If you have partially completed the Diploma in Applied Fitness you will be able to transition onto this new qualification.

Logistics is an innovative industry with constantly emerging business processes changes, enterprise software, tracking-and-reporting technologies, and business models. This program is designed for people who seek to gain advanced skills and knowledge in logistics and supply chain management to apply to their business environment, whether it be domestic or international business.The aim of this program is to produce work-ready graduates with the personal attributes, advanced specialised knowledge and practical skills necessary to make an immediate and innovative contribution to organisations engaged in, or wishing to engage in logistics and supply chain management whether locally, nationally or internationally.

Learn to design and create a great user experience with website interface design. This program blends IT support and software development with the applied knowledge of website, systems and interface design.

• Apply the theory you learn in a practical web design project using an existing website framework to demonstrate your technical understanding.

Through this three year program you will develop a wide range of skills and knowledge related to Animation and Computer Generated Imagery (CGI). This program is designed to give you the skills you need for employment in the CGI industry, and in the creative and cultural sectors, or in other sectors where CGI is used. You will gain experience using industry-standard animation and CGI software and processing for projects.
From gaming to animation, gain a broad range of skills
Similar skills are used across many areas of computer generated imagery. The NMIT Bachelor of CGI program is designed to introduce you a wide range of tools and techniques, and then let you delve deeper into particular areas of interested through project courses. Whether you want to create animated characters for games, or special effects for cinema – the skills you will learn in the Bachelor of Computer Generated Imagery will help set you on a path for a wide range of careers in CGI.

This is the second year of the Diploma qualifications.

This qualification is an approved training program for MNZ Watchkeeper Deck (or IMO STCW II/1 Officer of the Watch) is part of Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT). At IMINZ we offer a range of qualifications for both entry level and experienced seafarers.

This qualification will give you the skills you need to apply for your Maritime New Zealand (MNZ) Mate Fishing Vessel - Unlimited Certificate of Competency (COC). The program will give you the skills you need to gain your MNZ Mate Fishing Vessel - Unlimited COC, allowing you to work as Mate of a fishing vessel of 24m or more in length in any operating area at sea. On completion of this qualification return after 12 months and gain your Skipper Fishing Vessel – Unlimited certification to get the skills for your Maritime New Zealand (MNZ) Skipper Fishing Vessel - Unlimited COC. This programme contains all the training and supplementary certificates you will need for your COC. Including STCW basic safety training, advanced fire fighting, PISC and rescue boats, GMDSS Radio Operator.

This program is designed to give people who already have a degree or extensive business experience an opportunity to extend their knowledge into the field of management without having to complete another degree.
