This degree will teach you how to become a creative maker, thinker and active agent in a local, national and global context. A qualification in the Visual Arts will allow you to find employment in a diverse range of professions such as practising artist, curator, art educator or researcher. A variety of roles within the digital and film industries would also be possible.

Gain technical, academic and personal skills which will be transferable to a wide variety of fields including education, design, management and marketing. This qualification provides a perfect bridge into further learning as you select from a range of subjects initially and then move into full specialisation, focusing your talents in your chosen field.

This is an applied degree so you’ll learn by doing. You’ll gain the skills and practical knowledge to go straight into a job when you graduate.

It is based around practical experiences and problem-based learning, where you are the centre of the puzzle and the context determines the learning and outcomes.You will learn to reflect and critique your own and others practice in relation to the underpinning theory.

Graduates of this program can expect to gain employment as competent practitioners within professional organisations.This may include government and non-government sport, exercise and health settings. For example, working in or with regional sports trusts, commercial gyms, teaching, health promotion organisations and sporting organisations. 

The program provides you with the opportunity to further develop your undergraduate experience of the history and contemporary conventions of your field. Gain a variety of transferable skills and become an effective team worker who can take risks and think laterally to solve problems. Better understanding and advanced learning, including research skills in studio and theory, will present you with higher level employment prospects in education, or the arts industry and management sectors. Alternatively, you may become a practising artist in various disciplines and media.

This program has an emphasis on exploration and experimentation. You will develop individual projects which study ceramics as a medium with its own formal language, skills and history, within a broader context of fine arts and crafts.  

Successful completion of this program could lead to you becoming a successful practising artist, with the ability to understand and use your creativity to contribute significantly to your community.

Then this is the qualification for you! You will learn how to effectively implement processes that actively support and enhance the visitor experience and will evaluate local, national and international tourism operating environments.
An educational field trip to an iconic New Zealand tourism destination is included. You will have the chance to engage in tourism activities first hand to build your experience of the industry. This will help to build your knowledge and connect the theory you have learned with practice.

All business organisations need highly capable and competent members of a team who demonstrate the potential to lead staff, ensure targets align with strategic objectives, manage projects, and contribute to business planning to achieve high performance and productivity. Amongst other things, you will learn how to lead others to implement activities that lead to high productivity, manage projects within scope, resources and time, and develop a positive workplace culture and team engagement.

Graduates of the Leadership and Management strand will have the skills and knowledge to work.

Develop the technical cooking skills, creative design techniques and innovative business practices you need to become a market leader within the ever-evolving food industry.

Learn specialised culinary techniques, creative thinking skills and innovative practices, and ways to develop innovative offerings with a competitive edge. Your studies also include learning about business planning, brand development and marketing strategy.

This qualification is suitable for graduates who have a strong professional design background who want to extend and deepen their research skills and work on applied research projects which are self-generated or developed with industry or community partners.

Our on-site training kitchen, café and restaurant will provide the perfect environment for you to gain hands-on, practical experience so you can build work-ready skills.

You will graduate from this program as a highly capable individual with a standard of professional practice that will enhance your employment opportunities. You will be able to confidently and competently provide for the needs of your customers. In addition, you will be able to work independently in a variety of hospitality environments with some responsibility for the management and learning of others.
