Study the Bachelor of Business (Management) and you'll gain an understanding of how business operates and how to effectively manage resources and operations. The second year narrows your focus on your choice of either Human Resources or Operations, and you will then apply what you’ve developed in your Internship Based Learning (IBL) work placement, so you get practical experience before you even graduate.

The New Zealand Diploma in Veterinary Nursing provides a platform for you to build the hands-on skills and knowledge you need to become a qualified veterinary nurse and help animals maintain the best possible health and quality of life in a clinical environment. Through demonstrations, practical sessions, group work, small group tutorials, and real-life case studies, you'll learn how to manage animal patients and clients, and contribute to the treatment and care of animals. There are plenty of opportunities to put theory into practice at Unitec’s partner sister vet clinic, Vet Care Grey Lynn, as well as your choice of external clinics across Aotearoa. You will graduate as a qualified veterinary nurse who is able to work effectively and efficiently in a clinical setting, and you’ll be eligible for registration with the New Zealand Veterinary Nursing Association.

Construction sites can involve hundreds of workers and millions of dollars of materials, and construction managers are responsible for managing both. The Bachelor of Construction (Construction Management) prepares you with the knowledge and skills to organise and manage activities on a construction site, including gaining an in-depth knowledge and understanding of management structures, supply chain, people and production management. Become familiar with advanced construction management, contract law, tendering and design management, amongst other things.

In this practical, field-based program, you will develop the skills required to become a competent, informed, and reflective early childhood teacher who is committed to young children and their learning and development. You can earn while you learn, by working at least 12 hours a week in an early childhood centre from day one, plus spending 2 days a week on campus where you will learn to relate your teaching practice to theory.You will also experience a range of practicum placements at other early childhood centres for 16 weeks over three years. When you graduate, you'll be eligible to become a certified teacher in Aotearoa New Zealand

The New Zealand Diploma in Construction (Construction Management) prepares you with the specific knowledge and skills you’ll need to assist with all stages of construction management under the supervision of an experienced practitioner. 

A career in construction management requires an in-depth knowledge of building and construction principles, great people skills, and an aptitude for organisation. You’ll be responsible for the control, planning, and execution of a construction project from start to finish, so you must gain the right skills to be able to confidently deliver successful, safe and up-to-standard projects.

The focus of this qualification is on developing the necessary knowledge, skills and attributes to perform meaningful civil engineering work.  As a graduate of this program you’ll be able to use your knowledge to make informed decisions and implement them; competently perform technical work using national and international standards and apply civil engineering theory to design, contract administration and construction practice.
