Complete the third year of your degree by immersing in the “workhub” with real clients - getting truly ready for industry. This work-integrated learning component comprises380 hours of work experience. You'll learn how to apply concept creation, logic, imagination, intuition, critical thought and reasoning to the creation of meaningful outcomes for clients in the workplace. You'll develop a multidisciplinary approach in context of cultural and ethical influences, enabling you to contribute to the creative industry solutions and outputs in New Zealand and around the world.

Take your skills and understanding of furniture design to the next level with UCOL's Diploma in Fine Furniture.
UCOL's furniture design qualification is comprised of three qualifications. You must study these in order as follows:

• First year of study
  • Semester 1: New Zealand Certificate in Arts and Design (Furniture Design & Making)
  • Semester 2: New Zealand Certificate in Creativity (Furniture Design & Making) 
     
• Second year of study : New Zealand Diploma in Creativity (Furniture Design)

UCOL's furniture design offering is unique to New Zealand and offers students a practical, hands-on experience with lecturers who are qualified furniture makers.

As a graduate of this diploma, you will be able to work independently as a laboratory technician in science and technology-related fields including manufacturing and regulatory industries, field work, research and development.
