Graduates of this programme can pathway into the second year of our Bachelor of Applied Management or the Bachelor of Accounting or transfer credits to the first year of the University of Canterbury's Bachelor of Commerce degree. 

You will learn the theory about supply chains and the challenges associated with the management of getting the right product to the right person in the most cost effective and timely manner. Content includes project management, e-commerce, resource integration, contemporary issues in supply chain management and an industry project. This qualification provides a thorough grounding in business and management practice, appropriate for people wishing to enter management roles in business.

Continue to develop your practical and conceptual skills and knowledge in arts, crafts and/or design. Use research to inform, critique and present resolved work in a range of contexts. You will learn to independently select and apply a range of processes in arts, craft and/or design situations.

This qualification is designed for learners who wish to further develop their practical and conceptual skills and knowledge in arts, crafts and/or design. The creative industries and cultural sector in Aotearoa New Zealand will benefit from graduates who can use research to inform, critique and present resolved work in simulated contexts. Graduates will be able to independently select and apply a range of processes in arts, craft and/or design contexts.

This qualification builds on the New Zealand Certificate in Beauty Therapy (Level 4) and graduates will be able to:

• Implement professional standards and expectations relating to advanced beauty services including all relevant health, safety and hygiene obligations.
• Undertake an in-dept consultantion and build rapport with clients to analyse and evaluate their needs, and develop and manage a treatment plan for advanced beauty services.
• Apply knowledge of advanced skin care services and products, and related skills, to meet clients needs, during and after treatment, in accordance with industry standards and current and emerging trends.
• Apply knowledge of advanced hair removal services and products, and related skills to meet client's needs during and after treatment, in accordance with industry standards and current and emerging trends.
• Apply knowledge of relevant aspects of chemistry, physics and biology in an advanced beauty services context to provide effective services and ensure client comfort and safety.
• Manage the operation of a small beauty sector business or client base.
• Apply knowledge of skin and body diseases and disorders in order to identify symptoms, provide information and advice and refer clients to health practitioners in accordance with industry standards relating to scope of practice.
• Provide nutritional advice which is complementary to advanced beauty services.

This qualification will provide you with state of the art learning in business systems and the requisite technology. You will learn how to access databases through social media avenues to construct useful information for both in-house and external communications. In addition, you will apply the latest techniques for managing information and communication technologies. Best of all, as part of your studies, you will be placed with an industry sponsor to get “real life” hands-on experience.
