Accredited by TIGA, our Computer Games Art degree will allow you to develop art skills relevant to the fast-moving computer games industry. You’ll gain 3D computer games skills including modelling, texturing and animation, enabling you to create characters, environments and more.

During your time at ARU, you’ll receive ongoing support to find placements and work experience relevant to your Computer Games Art and you can take an optional placement year. Combine film theory and media theory with practical skills including film-making, multimedia content creation and digital publishing.

Our BA (Hons) Film and Media degree will introduce you to the key issues debates in film and media from feminism and postmodernism to the impact of film, TV, music and the media on society, including politics, youth culture and technology..

You’ll also create your own short films in video, animation or 16mm format. Working in our professional TV and film studios, you’ll be trained in all aspects of the craft, including camera operation, sound recording and editing. You’ll also be able to focus on particular areas of interest, including digital publishing (building apps), radio production, screenwriting and computer coding.

As a Film and Media student at ARU, you’ll learn the language of film from the perspective of a film-maker, and use this to inform your own short films. You’ll also explore current issues around our data-driven society through modules in digital media theory and law, culture and technology and use this knowledge in the production of apps, podcasts or online platforms.

You’ll also have the opportunity to carry out a work placement, or produce a commissioned product, in the area of your choice as you prepare for a career in film- and media-related roles, including production, post-production, digital content creation and journalism. In your final year, your moving image work is screened at the Cambridge Arts Picturehouse. The best films will also be selected for showing at the annual Cambridge Film Festival.

Critical and contextual studies will connect your own research and writing to your practice and will guide you to specialist resources in our campus library. Explore hundreds of photographers’ monographs and access technical and contextual texts, as well as other online resources, to underpin and expand your practice.

You can expand your skillset, with additional technical workshops including printmaking, 3D work and writing workshops. You can choose to take part in photography field trips too, and experience photographing different locations such as Venice and Prague.

While studying BA (Hons) Photography with us, you’ll learn to adopt a professional approach to your work, covering aspects of career management such as rights issues, project management and self-promotion through social media. You can choose to take up work placements that will help you establish your own professional network, including opportunities such as working for magazines, galleries and photographers. By studying a Masters in Brand Management, you’ll gain a substantial grounding in the theory that drives the marketing function, and the skills you need to create and manage a successful brand. Taking real-world challenges as our starting point, there's a strong focus on practical, hands-on learning, including the option to take a placement in industry.

We’ll deconstruct brands to understand the essence of their appeal, how they create demand for their product, and the ways in which they can cut across cultural boundaries. In doing this we’ll examine a range of marketing techniques and strategies.

We’ll also consider the changing environment in which brands operate and their response to innovation, or ‘disruption’. You'll look at the challenges brands face around ethics and sustainability, and how they can communicate their value proposition to consumers.

Our Sport and Exercise Therapy degree course will give you the skills to work with a range of individuals, using evidence-based practice to bring them back to optimal levels of fitness and performance.

You're likely to find yourself working pitch-side, dealing with a range of emergencies, behind the scenes, helping athletes recover from injury and also advising on how to train for optimum performance.

But there are opportunities outside of professional sport too. Our course recognises broader concerns about low levels of physical activity, leading to poor health and an increased susceptibility to injury. We are all living longer, and with that, we need professionals to help support an increasing range of ages and not always working in the sports environment. There is an emerging and urgent need for qualified healthcare professionals to work with different groups or individuals in rehabilitation and exercise referral. This means you, as a sport therapist, will be busy when you graduate!

Our BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Therapy students are based in the Cambridge Centre for Sport and Exercise Sciences. Here, you’ll learn from expert staff who include practising sport therapists, coaches, psychologists, nutritionists and conditioning specialists. There’s the chance to hear from world-leading guest speakers too, through our Excellence in Sports seminars.

Many of our students choose to study law because they’re motivated by the idea of helping people. As you progress through the LLB (Hons) Law course, you’ll have the chance to take optional modules and explore areas of law that are of particular interest to you.

By studying BA (Hons) Interior Design at ARU, you’ll explore the relationships between design, experience and narrative.

With our small studio groups, your tutors will really get to know you and your work, and help you become a resilient interior designer with a distinctive creative voice.

Design can reveal a lot about the people who use a space, and the community they inhabit. On our BA (Hons) Interior Design degree you’ll learn to create effective design proposals, while considering how to develop spaces that connect stories with people.

Throughout the course, you’ll be encouraged to propose design questions, such as: How can public spaces cater for multiple activities and users? How much space do we need to live in? How do major brands reinvent themselves to respond to new markets?

We think your ideas and design skills are important. You’ll develop these by working in small teams at different stages of your degree, sometimes alongside students from other creative courses.

There’s also the opportunity to get inspired on European field trips, and to study abroad for a semester – with funding available to help cover the cost.
