International Business BA (Hons) has been structured to provide you with up-to-date knowledge and insight of the critical issues in International Business. This degree cultivates knowledge and skills needed to succeed in an increasingly globalised marketplace when conducting cross-border activities such as business expansion abroad or trading internationally. The programme explores how businesses operate in different contexts locally and across borders. The Sport Management MSc programme explores the multi-faceted area of sport management, combining specialist sport modules with practical experience in the industry. You will explore a range of different sports and develop a critical perspective on contemporary themes such as ethical considerations, heritage and sport’s political, social, economic and cultural contexts. Energy Engineering MSc will give you an in-depth understanding of contemporary issues in energy and sustainability, and will develop your knowledge of experimental and computer modelling techniques for the design of energy systems, such as electricity grids, thermal energy networks and transportation systems.

You can choose from a range of modules to focus on either sustainable development in practice, sustainability in the built environment, or techniques of energy analysis. The course is informed by research from the Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development (IESD) so that you develop industry-relevant and up-to-date knowledge and expertise.

Visual Effects BSc has been developed in consultation with the industry to deliver skills relative to the production of visual effects (VFX) across a range of contemporary media. The use of VFX is commonplace within broadcast productions, film and animation, video games, and in advertising. This is reflected in the scope of this course as it pulls from a number of disciplines including film, special effects, animation and 3D, to complement the interdisciplinarity of the subject.

This course also encourages you to develop your creative flair and understanding of industry-standard software to create your own 3D content for use in film and television projects.

As an integral part of the multibillion-pound film and television industry, studying the creative and technical skills used in VFX can open up extensive career prospects.

Our graduates have gone on to work in roles such as compositors and matte painters, as well as wider media-based roles such as colourists and finishers.

If you dream of a career in music production, audio engineering, programming, mastering or mixing, DMU’s course in Music Production is designed specifically for you.

This course covers the science and technology of audio and recording systems and how these can be used effectively in recording, mixing and mastering and sound design. You will develop skills in audio mixing and mastering, learn the principles of electronics and acoustics, study the measurement and design of recording and audio product environments, and produce sound for digital media, including radio, television, film, video games and online content.

Through core modules, you will learn about the fundamentals of audio engineering, discover the acoustical foundations of musical sounds and be introduced to studio techniques. In your second and third year, you will build your portfolio and have the chance to organise and perform your own events in the heart of Leicester.

You will build a skillset that will equip you for roles in areas such as studio recording, audio and post-production, sound system installation, management and sound for film and TV. Our graduates have gone on to work in successful roles for major companies including Bauer Media and Spotify.

The Nursing and Midwifery Council introduced new national educational standards – Future Nurse Standards of Proficiency for registered Nurses in 2018. The curriculum from September 2021 onwards, is based on these standards for nurse education.

On this course, you will develop an advanced understanding of your design practice, and discover how emerging digital technologies can enhance your skill set, in order to take an individual and innovative approach to tackling complex industry challenges.

The MSc programme is tailored for students with BSc degrees or engineering design degrees, so that they can build on their prior technical knowledge. There are no engineering modules on the MSc, instead the broad curriculum has been designed for you to respond to the assessments by applying industrial product design and engineering design principles within concepts, final specification and design. As an MSc graduate, you will have the technical engineering design expertise that will make you ideally placed for industry roles in manufacturing, product and industrial design - or to continue onto further research and development within the industry or by studying a PhD.
