Using a range of artistic and scholarly perspectives from dance and other artistic disciplines, you will explore new approaches to the research and realisation of choreography in professional and academic contexts.  The curriculum emphasises the development of practice research, interdisciplinarity and authorship.

Our Product Design course helps you to take your imaginative ideas and make them real. To do that you need both the creativity and the technical skills to bring your ideas to life.

On this course you’ll study the fundamentals of maths and science, electrical, electronic and mechanical principles, and simulation and fluid dynamics, as well as the functional and market-led requirements of product design.

You’ll look at specific areas including technology integration, computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D design, sustainability and design for manufacture, and be taught by academics with current industry connections.

The Global Health MSc course is a new and innovative learning opportunity offering a balanced blend of knowledge and skills in regard to addressing global health challenges and public health issues. Underpinned by the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals, the course will provide opportunities for you to develop transferable skills to apply for careers working with global communities both internationally and in the UK.

Students will undertake a range of modules including: Introduction to Global Health, Critical Issues in Global Health, Global Health skills, Researching Global Health and Global Health Dissertation. The course will be delivered by staff with expertise from a range of backgrounds including both practice and research.

The course will provide opportunities for students to acquire interdisciplinary skills, providing them with the tools to work as part of an interdisciplinary team. In an increasingly media-focused world, this course will develop your existing passion for film and TV into a prospective career, helping you acquire a skillset required for many technical and creative roles.

You will gain a strong theoretical understanding of film history and theory, and explore areas such as Disney, Warner Bros and the business of the Film Studio, Cinemas of the World and Fan and Material Cultures. You will also develop practical skills in diverse areas including film making, film reviewing, screen archives and film festival planning.

We will take the study of management and organisations from its historical roots to the present day, and, using real-life examples, we will teach you to critically analyse organisational development and the possible consequences on human resource management.  

The international aspect to the course allows you to explore the complexities of management within organisations that operate and trade across multiple countries, and gain an understanding of management in a global context. Learn how to look at company accounts from both the shareholder and the company perspectives, and discover the importance of organisational culture and identity. The production and utilisation of energy is a key global issue. Governments and industry are becoming increasingly aware of balancing energy production and utilisation with the need to be environmentally conscious and energy efficient.

This course addresses energy production, storage and utilisation. Develop your understanding of the production and efficient use of conventional and renewable energy sources for power generation, and modern energy storage solutions, complemented with elements of energy economics. You will gain a strong understanding of key principles in engineering, mechanics, electricals and electronics, and will explore specialist topics in modules including Sustainable Buildings, Energy for Transport Applications and Low Carbon Energy Technology.

You will have the opportunity to gain industry experience by undertaking an optional work placement. Recent placements have taken place at companies such as Cummins, Network Rail and Caterpillar. We also place a strong focus on employability through industry relevant modules, including Energy Economics and Policy and Project Management.

Teaching is delivered by our expert staff at the Cyber Technology Institute, which has been named as an NCSC Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Research thanks to its pioneering research in incident response and cyber threat intelligence, industrial control systems and sociotechnical security.

Our Cyber Technology MSc course consists of four main themes –Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Digital Forensics and Software Engineering. It can be studied by combining modules from all five categories, allowing you to specialise in your chosen area of interest. Alternatively, you have the opportunity to choose mixed pathways, for example the choices of modules could lead to a degree in Cyber Technology with Artificial Intelligence.
