Overview
Our History programme is diverse, international in focus and innovative. Exploring primarily modern and contemporary history, this course will teach you the skills for effective research and analysis, helping to hone your ability to absorb, communicate and critically analyse complex information.
Reflecting the globalised world we live in, the curriculum covers a British, South Asian, European and African and North and South American history and explores topics such as colonialism, decolonisation, immigration, ethnic minorities, gender, photographic history and the history of sport and leisure.
This course will hone your ability to absorb, communicate and critically analyse complex information. As you progress through the course, we’ll challenge you with more in-depth explorations and you can deepen your own historical interests. You’ll be supported by a passionate teaching team who are leading experts in their fields and provide a dynamic learning environment with a variety teaching and assessment methods.
Alongside your History curriculum, you can choose to study French, Mandarin or Spanish from either beginner level or post-beginner level. You will develop your linguistic skills and also gain an understanding of the social, cultural, political, historical and artistic topics from the Francophone, Chinese or Hispanophone world.

If you dream of a career in music production, audio engineering, programming, mastering or mixing, DMU’s course in Music Production is designed specifically for you.
This course covers the science and technology of audio and recording systems and how these can be used effectively in recording, mixing and mastering and sound design. You will develop skills in audio mixing and mastering, learn the principles of electronics and acoustics, study the measurement and design of recording and audio product environments, and produce sound for digital media, including radio, television, film, video games and online content.
Through core modules, you will learn about the fundamentals of audio engineering, discover the acoustical foundations of musical sounds and be introduced to studio techniques. Visual Effects BSc has been developed in consultation with the industry to deliver skills relative to the production of visual effects (VFX) across a range of contemporary media.
