Mechatronics integrates the theory and practice of mechanical, electrical and computer based disciplines, to enable the design, modelling and development of intelligent machines, products and systems.

Course modules include Mechatronics Systems Engineering and Artificial Intelligence which introduces you to model-based system engineering and the mechatronic philosophies of design, Programming and Software Engineering to develop knowledge of efficient programming approaches to software engineering with an emphasis on practical programming skills and Engineering Business Environment which enable students to understand and reflect upon the role of business in a rapidly changing, globalised world. 

Aeronautical and Aerospace engineering is one of the fastest-growing industries in the UK, with extensive career opportunities in research and development, testing, and maintenance.

This course covers the basic principles of aeronautical engineering, including experimental and theoretical aerodynamics, aircraft design, flight dynamics and control, aircraft propulsion, flight simulation technologies, aircraft structures and computational aerodynamics.

Employment opportunities include careers in aeronautics and aerospace, namely aircraft aerodynamics, wind turbine design and maintenance, aviation management, defense sector, aircraft maintenance, repair and operation services (MRO).

The Fine Art MA is designed to prepare you for continuous artistic, professional and academic development. Our exhibiting artists and research-active academics have interdisciplinary expertise in drawing, painting, sculpture, analogue and digital photography, digital media, printmaking, public art, installation and relational practice. You will build important professional practice skills throughout the course with opportunities to curate and exhibit your work. Teaching is delivered by our expert staff at the Cyber Technology Institute, which has been named as an NCSC Academic Centre of Excellence in Cyber Security Research thanks to its pioneering research in incident response and cyber threat intelligence, industrial control systems and sociotechnical security.

Our Cyber Technology MSc course consists of four main themes –Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Digital Forensics and Software Engineering. It can be studied by combining modules from all five categories, allowing you to specialise in your chosen area of interest. Alternatively, you have the opportunity to choose mixed pathways, for example the choices of modules could lead to a degree in Cyber Technology with Artificial Intelligence.
