Mechatronics integrates the theory and practice of mechanical, electrical and computer based disciplines, to enable the design, modelling and development of intelligent machines, products and systems.

The Graphic Design (Illustration) degree is taught in alliance with the Graphic Design degree, with module-specific teaching to develop a more personal visual language.

Graphic designers and illustrators need to be curious innovators and follow a reflective and explorative design process. They need to understand and engage audience. The Graphic Design (Illustration) course will build both your Graphic Design industry skills and develop your own personal visual style. You will be taught how to interpret briefs, identify and solve problems to create innovative design illustration solutions.

On the Graphic Design (Illustration) course you will have the opportunity to explore and experiment with an extensive range of media and craft skills, taught by expert practitioners. Working on projects that will allow your creativity and talent to thrive over all print, digital and analogue media, platforms.

Though our close relationships with industry you will be set live projects giving enabling you to have work selected and published.

The Finance and Investment BSc course at DMU provides a rigorous academic approach to finance with a focus on practical skills and employability. On this course you’ll study the fundamentals of maths and science, electrical, electronic and mechanical principles, and simulation and fluid dynamics, as well as the functional and market-led requirements of product design.

You’ll look at specific areas including technology integration, computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D design, sustainability and design for manufacture, and be taught by academics with current industry connections.

This course will enable you to develop a broad, industry-relevant understanding of information systems, with opportunities to specialise in your individual areas of interest.

Throughout the programme, students will build the skills and knowledge needed to operate as professionals in the field of information systems. The Fine Art MA is designed to prepare you for continuous artistic, professional and academic development. We will support you to develop research methods and personal goals tailored to your creative practice and professional ambitions. You’ll be introduced to emerging trends in contemporary practice including presentation, installation, curatorial and representational issues, and learn how to develop research methods to inform your creative decisions.

You will be encouraged to ask questions and take a personal and critical position in the globalised creative world, equipped with the skills to produce and exhibit your work, to embrace change in the fast-evolving creative industries and challenge artistic conventions.

Teaching takes place in our creative studio environment with support from a highly skilled team of technicians, and you will have access to a range of workshops to experiment and innovate with materials and processes. Our exhibiting artists and research-active academics have interdisciplinary expertise in drawing, painting, sculpture, analogue and digital photography, digital media, printmaking, public art, installation and relational practice. You will build important professional practice skills throughout the course with opportunities to curate and exhibit your work. Develop a dialogue around your work by participating in discussion groups and seminars and be part of a dynamic cohort of Fine Art students, from BA to PhD.

This course will underpin your learning with industry-led insight and expertise, mixing professional knowledge and skills with academic critical thinking about films, audiences and the film industry.

You will enhance your filmmaking skills while developing a range of core skills and expertise in business and production management. These include scriptwriting, lighting and cinematography, directing and post-production, pitching, budgeting and management.

Further your knowledge of key roles in the film industry and the production process by learning about screenwriting and digital film and audio capture. As your studies progress you will develop your own projects under the guidance of our expert staff, with modules covering pre-production and production, equipping you for your final dissertation or individual film project.

Work on live external client briefs and learn how to curate and exhibit your work to a professional standard.
