Accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), this programme explores human behaviour using sound scientific methodology – observation, measurement, and testing – to understand how and why people function in the way they do. Focuses on both psychology and education studies, you will also be introduced to the history of formal education in the UK and explore key contemporary issues and debates concerning social class, race and ethnicity, and social justice in education.

You will be taught by experienced, research-active academics and clinical experts who will present the latest advances in medicine and science, and study a range of topics, including Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Inflammation and Immunobiology, Evidence Based Medicine and Clinical Perspectives, Cancer Therapeutics, Pharmacology and Therapeutics and Nutrition through the lifespan. Our MSc International Finance and Investment programme will provide you with skills and expertise to appraise issues facing financial market participants and to improve the practice of investment and risk management in a sustainable and ethical manner. It focuses on trading portfolio management and corporate finance following latest developments in the finance field by offering Financial Technology (FinTech) as a core module. You will be taught by research active academics with industry experience who are able to bring fresh insights into their teaching. Research strengths include Corporate Finance, Financial Economics, International Finance, Project Finance, Accounting, Financial Markets and Corporate Governance. Teaching is academically rigorous and strong emphasis is placed on practical relevance.

Developed with industry and certified by the NCSC (National Cyber Security Centre), this course directly addresses the unprecedented demand for cyber security expertise. It explores the underpinning technology of cyber domain and the role of linguistics, psychology and sociology in dealing with new cyber challenges.

You will study a diverse range of modules, including Cyber Threat Intelligence, Malware Analysis, and Penetration Testing and Incident Response, providing the fundamental knowledge needed to work in the sector. You will also produce a substantial piece of individual work in your third semester, with the support of your academic supervisor, investigating a topic tailored to your own area of interest.

The involvement of the Industrial Advisory Group (Airbus, BT, Deloitte UK and Rolls-Royce) in designing the course and supporting its delivery ensures the teaching remains current and supportive of the real challenges faced by cyber security specialists.

You will be taught by recognised experts in cyber security and will develop your professional skills within the Cyber Technology Institute (CTI), with its purpose-built cyber security and forensics laboratories.

We expect graduates to find employment as cyber security specialists within law enforcement, government, commercial IT departments and security consultancies. Previous graduates have gone on to work for cyber security specialist organisations including Capgemini.

This degree programme will equip graduates who are capable of meeting the increasing demands for combining computer networks, security, and programming expertise raised by the growing adoption of the Next-Generation Network (NGN) services, e.g., VoIP, and Next Generation Network Model, i.e., SDN and NFV, where network devices have turned to be a programmable virtual entity on the cloud.

Beside core computer science and cyber security modules, this course includes key networking modules prepared carefully according to the new Cisco certification path, in consultation with our Cisco partner. These new modules focus on industry level requirements and are certification oriented and will prepare graduates to meet the new skill demands to maximise employability.

The structure of the course and programme modules makes it possible for graduates to also take traditional and emerging computer science, software engineering, or cyber security roles.

Our course encompasses two distinct practical themes - concept art and comic art, both of which focus on fundamental, traditional art skills and contemporary digital techniques.

In concept art you will be helped to master a range of industry-focused tools and techniques for developing pre-production, production and post-production art for the film and video game industries. In comic art you will develop a practical understanding of idea generation, visual storytelling and visual communication.

These two themes mean you will access a wide range of creative possibilities and opportunities. They are underpinned by contextual studies to inform and enhance your practice through an exploration of the historical, cultural and social contexts of the wider world of print and web-based comic arts, graphic novels and visual communication.
