This course offers you an understanding of how the economy and the financial system are connected. Through a distinctive, pluralist approach, the course examines both traditional and alternative theories and their real-life applications.

You'll explore the interplay of financial markets, instruments, and institutions, as well as their impact on the economy. You'll develop many skills that are highly valued by employers. These include analytical, numerical, data analysis and problem-solving skills, and the use of specialist statistical software.

Are you interested in theatre and performance? Are you keen to explore creative writing, such as scriptwriting, poetry, prose and fiction?

If so, this course is ideal. It combines two subjects which naturally overlap and will prepare you for a career in writing or in theatre, or for careers that combine both, such as scriptwriting.

Energising seminars and workshops will explore how writing works in the theatre industry. You'll develop texts with performers, rehearse readings and participate in full theatre productions. Practical knowledge is shared through guest masterclasses from playwrights such as Laura Wade, Roy Williams and award-winner, Winsome Pinnock.

With analytical techniques and instrumentation becoming evermore sophisticated, there is an increasing demand for qualified analytical chemists. This industrially relevant course will provide you with a strong background in the theory of analytical techniques and give you the ability to apply these techniques to complex analytical problems.

You will study good measurement and scientific practice and the evaluation and interpretation of data. You will also develop skills to prepare you for your career, including problem solving, organisation, data collation, review and synopsis, time management and teamwork. Your independent project can be an excellent selling point when looking for a job promotion; you may be offered a placement within industry to carry it out. This course explores current trends in chemical, biological and biotechnological therapeutics and examines the latest technologies in the pharmaceutical industry. You will gain an understanding of processes used in clinical trials and in the development, manufacture and regulation of medicines. Through an independent research project, you will study an area of interest in depth. Examples of projects include: medicinal chemistry (eg. synthesis of anti-cancer compounds and natural products), pharmaceutical technology (eg. optimisation of tablet manufacture and formulation), and clinical pharmacy (eg. pharmacovigilance, clinical trial and medicines regulations).

With a full programme of workshops and critical study, this Creative Writing MA offers you the chance to work on your own writing in different genres with the support of published practitioners.

The Writers' Workshop module will encourage you to develop your writing 'voice' through engagement with fellow students across a range of genres (in fiction or creative non-fiction), while the Special Study module enables you to specialise in one genre, such as fiction, non-fiction, poetry or drama.
