The Psychology MSc is a conversion course for graduates from disciplines other than Psychology who wish to gain GBC (Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership). This is the first step for those who wish to work as a Chartered Psychologist in the UK. GBC ensures that a student has sufficient knowledge, understanding and experience of academic Psychology before they apply for postgraduate professional training in areas such as clinical, occupational, educational or counselling psychology.

The MSc Psychology is also appropriate for Psychology graduates who want to pursue postgraduate professional training in Psychology, but whose undergraduate degree is not accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS).

This course offers key skills in pharmaceutical analysis, including measurement, scientific practice, evaluation and interpretation of data. You will study recent trends in analytical science and techniques and be introduced to pharmaceutical technologies, such as formulations and clinical pharmacokinetics. You'll learn C++ and C# programming languages, use game engines, such as Unity and Unreal, and develop games for PC, mobile, tablet and the Sony PlayStation 4. You'll also learn the computer science that underpins programming, such as requirements analysis and design and network communications.

You'll be able to participate in Game Jams, working in a team over a 24-hour period to create games and attend optional trips (such as the PC Gamer Weekender).

Course leader Stephen Bowen has 25 years' experience as an international human rights practitioner, including Campaigns Director of Amnesty International UK, Chief Human Rights Officer for the United Nations Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Director of the British Institute of Human Rights, and Legal Adviser to the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights.

You will receive support to arrange a placement in a human rights or social justice organisation as part of the course, to gain valuable practical experience. Previous student placements have been undertaken at Liberty, Peace Brigades International, Amnesty International, and Refugee Action.

You will have the opportunity to arrange a placement in a human rights organisation, increasing your employability in the field.

Lively discussion is encouraged, with visiting speakers, leading academics and figures from human rights and international organisations contributing to the debate.
