This course, accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science, provides an in-depth understanding of disease processes and diagnostic techniques. It links academic knowledge to the practical applications of biomedical science, particularly in relation to modern diagnostic methods. You can choose to study one of two pathways – haematology or medical microbiology. On this Philosophy and Contemporary Critical Theory MA course you'll study key works of critical theory in relation to the social and political problems of the present. Past projects have examined areas such as determining caffeine and its metabolites in human serum samples using GC-MS, and synthesis and use of compounds as probes for biochemical reactions.
